Good to see the Mayor chime on on the situation. Major storm to hit the area and no word from our elected leader. Must be something better to attend to I guess.

That makes no sense what so ever...You lose money if no one shows up. They should just move it to next weekend, it is not that big of a deal to do! As a vendor, I wish they would move it.
As a vendor you know that there is the cost of rental equipment, band deposits, food costs, deposits, deposits, deposits, and it you are a good event you attract good vendors that most likely are not available next weekend therefore you lose you shirt if you postpone because no one is available if it is rescheduled. Then there is the cost of re-advertising... in other words, you take another gamble of rescheduling and losing more money.

They may do very well Friday night and Sunday, and Sat may be a loss but at least they have Friday and Sat...

As if a wee bit of rain could stop the Irish Fest.
Toughen up, grab a Guinness, and hang out under a tent until it blows over...or just go tonight.

I would not even think about going if they postponed it to next week as I am sure the food (which is already prepared) would not, lets say "meet the health department standards" The vendors are here to make a buck and that is fine! But, no way would I go if they posponed it to next week as I know the foood was prepared the week earlier. Nor would I go during a downpour.

I hope that wasn't an impersonation of an Irish Accent. If so, it rotted. Don't quit your day job. To those of us who have family in Ireland, that was insulting enough to make us put you on the "No Guinness For You" list, forever.

I was quite surprised to see that a Taste of Danbury is this weekend - had not seen a peep about it in the NT whatsoever. Looking at the entertainment section - yup, not a peep.

So - to the Publishers, Editors, and Writers for the News Times - please have some respect for yourselves, and for Danbury, and resign to allow the owners, or new owners, to hire people who can produce a product which actually reports the news. You are, to the last person, a disgrace. The founders of the NT will be rolling over in the graves, you have no right marching in a parade.

I am taking this opportunity to write to Heart and let them know - unless they make major changes to the staff, their circulation will continue to decline, and I encourage all readers to do the same.
