praise god. i was stuck in system Buracracy once when no hope could be seen.As things would have it. Nothing much has changed where i was at then. Their mentality on the issue about the people that have problems are so defensive they should be in a lock up just for those people they offend.

Just don't release him to ConRep...however, this story begs the question, is this man an illegal immigrant? Flight risk to where? What was he charged with? He was released on bond...Homeland Security challenged the bond? This is a hugely complicated story with too many questions left unanswered. I can't decide whether to applaud or be outraged by the misuse of taxpayer dollars. This is a conundrum, wrapped in an enigma, bla bla bla

Illegals have rights? does the constition apply to foreigners? why not send them back to a good country like Mexico who doesn't have the aclu. It just gets worse, give it five years when the U.S. is broke from all the free medical. Lets just make Mexico a U.S. state, their all ready here and spanish is just about the only language recognized in CA and just think how much money the aclu would save. What happened to the dope they were transporting.

I guarantee this person got better mental health treatment here in the US under the control of ICE than he would living on the streets of Tijuana, eating out of trash cans and talking to the chupacabra. Prove me wrong. Go ahead bleeding hearts!

How can we prove that wrong? It's great we live in a country where people can be picked up and held without reason or due process, have their civil rights violated and have it all perpetuated for years and years due to an inept, draconian government! Not much longer and all our middle class suburbs will be slums, all the abandoned and foreclosed tract homes will be crack houses and squatters dens, and people will be saying 'if you got to American, don't drink the water!" Zeig Heil George W. Bush!!!!

The question still remains in my mind was this 'detainee" an illegal immigrant? If that is the case that explains why ICE was involved. What rights illegal immigrants have are more along the lines of human rights...if he is mentally disabled and was treated accordingly what US violations did he commit to cause him to be arrested?
Remember "Midnight Express" when you think the US ignored due process. There is much more to this story than has been revealed. I for one want to know more. So, Man with a Clue, that's all you have. If he was illegal he has no civil rights, just human rights. Even though you're right about Bush.

If you don't know by now, George Bush isn't president anymore. Another fact, it's called a 5150. When any person, as a result of mental disorder, is a danger to others, or to himself or herself, or gravely disabled, a peace officer, member of the attending staff, as defined by regulation, of an evaluation facility designated by the county, designated members of a mobile crisis team provided by Section 5651.7, or other professional person designated by the county may, upon probable cause, take, or cause to be taken, the person into custody and place him or her in a facility designated by the county and approved by the State Department of Mental Health as a facility for 72-hour treatment and evaluation. At such time the subject is re-evaluated and can then be placed in a institution for longer periods of time if they still pose a threat to themselves or others. That is not considered a violation of their civil rights. Quit using terms that you have no idea what they mean. Go back and finish your GED.
