Obama may well affect the arts, but it is not likely that he will find the time to effect them, as said in the Tribune online.

I think Obama will be great for Hollywood and entertainment, since that's the cornerstone of his abilities. The ability to put on an act without any real substance rings a bell with Hollywood.

I know our enemies were cheering for him too. Odd, Hollywood and muslim militants on the same side.

Not sure how that goes over in middle America...

Al Gore has really stepped in it this time. He could have spent the rest of his global warming career collecting money by spreading fear over events that were a centure or at least half century in the future. Oh, but that wasn't good enough for Big Al. He's now told the biggest global warming whopper of his alarmist career:

AL GORE HAS GUARANTEED THAT THE NORTHERN POLAR ICE CAP WILL BE COMPLETELY GONE IN FIVE YEARS!!!

When I heard this I assumed it was a rumor started by skeptics to make Gore look bad. It wasn't until I viewed the video that I realized what Gore had done. Gore has started a five year credibility countdown timer ticking and it's up to all of us to make sure that he is held accountable and proven to be a fraud when his dire prediction aimed at drumming up support doesn't come close to comming true.

The mainstream media isn't going to let this video see the light of day because they, unlike Al, understand the precarious position in which he has placed himself.

It is therefore up to us to spread the word about Big Al's prediction. He must be exposed for the fearmongering opportunist that he has become.

To view the video, please visit the following site and click on the picture of Big Al holding up five fingers.

While visiting this site, you might want to watch a preview of the film "Not Evil, Just wrong" or watch "The Great Global Warming Swindle" which is found in the video section. Happy Viewing!!!

"Geffen and his DreamWorks partners, Steven Spielberg and Jeffrey Katzenberg, threw a $1.3 million fundraiser for Obama."

Resulting in Prop 8 and no chance of a David Geffen/Keanu Reeves wedding.

Careful what you wish for, Mr. Geffen

I hear the hoop shooter is going to change his name again and star in a movie titled the "Last days of the U.S." A good name would be Trusty Flipflop !!!

This article is titled "How will Obama effect entertainment and the arts?" on the front page of the online version of the Trib. Honestly, isn't there a single Tribune copy editor who made it out of the fifth grade? The correct word is AFFECT, the verb, not EFFECT, the noun.(If the editors meant "effect CHANGE in entertainment and the arts", then they should have said so with a completed thought.) This is the second time in three weeks this exact error has occurred, among other grammar and punctutation atrocities and egregious errors in editing that occur every day. The Trib's regular misuse of commas to offset proper names and conditional statements also looks like an elementary school dropout is in charge there.

Glad I'm not the only one who immediately noted yet another remedial error (effect/affect). This is becoming an almost daily occurrence. Someone there should be embarrassed.

Don't people in the words business, e.g. headline writers, know the difference between "effect" and "affect" anymore?
