In an era where men like Clooney, DiCaprio and Penn are praised as great actors, Charlton Heston is the yardstick against which they should all be measured. And with the exceptions of DeNiro, Pacino, Hanks, Denzel Washington, and Russell Crowe, the others could barely touch the bottom of Hestons shoes. God Bless and God Speed.

What I remember most about him is going to Colorado the day after the columbine shooting to hold a rally to defend gun rights, nice guy huh. And before you say anything I own multiple guns.

RIP. The fight shall go on.

“We’ve raised a generation of young people who think that the Bill of Rights came with their cable TV. Its time they learned that firearm ownership is constitutional, not criminal. In fact, few pursuits can teach a young person more about responsibility, safety, conservation, their history and their heritage all at once.”--- Charlton Heston

Wow some of your nerds are not very respectful of a fantastic actor. I will always remember going with my 8th grade class from the Bronx on a field trip to see "Ben Hur" in one of those giant movie theaters in Manhattan. What an amazing film that has stayed with me since 1959. Only the best behaved students would be allowed to go so I had a lot of changing to do to deserve this wonderful day. The chariot race was one of the most exciting sequences ever filmed. Steven Boyd who lost the race played the part of Masalas. Mr. Heston was one of our best. He might not have been a perfect human but he was a near-perfect Moses. Happy Passover to all who celebrate.

Gave us years of great entertainment. His Ben Hur will always be a classic. His star now shines brightly in the heavens as well as on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Wiothout a doubt an American movie ICON!
