If Matt Sietz had actually watched the development of Roscoe Arbuckle's career AFTER 1915, he might have realized than silent comedy fans are today laughing long and hard at the very funny and ofhen brilliant work of Arbuckle. If Seitz is blinded himself to this, the problem does not lie in viewing the work of this badly neglected and abused figure, but in the tragically closed mind of Seitz that innocent people should be treated as guilty. Today, the 1921 scandal has faded into the past --and the restof us can again love Arbuckle for what he was and the joy he brought the world.
