Isn't Hollywood part of a sanctuary city? How are the movers and shakers hiding the millions of illegal gangbangers from the tourists? You can dress up the corpse, but it's still a stinking dead body from yesteryear.

It should be a big draw for American tourists as a bargain vacation. Unionizing hotel workers like the LA city council and VillalaBozo did doesn't keep costs down. High sales taxes to support the massive salaries of government bureaucrats doesn't keep costs down. Sky-high electric and water rates to feed the greed of LADWP and the LA government does not keep costs down.

Hollywood has been revitalizing but there is much more that can be done in addition to the government reforms needed above:
1) build a Hollywood family theme park (in addition to Universal Studio tours) with a movie themed rides and a water park.
2) build more Broadway-style theaters.
3) more movie theaters.
4) more bars and dance clubs.
5) more low to high end restaurants.
6) more package tours of studios and star attractions.
7) more police/ranger presence.
8) greater emphasis on Thai Town and less on Little Armenia.
9) better documentation of historical attractions.
10) more condos, hotels and offices.
11) more shopping malls.
12) always keep it safe and clean.

"We want to go to Japan, South Korea, Mexico and remind people that this is the place that dreams come true," Villaraigosa said. "And the place that tourists should come."

Tony ... haven't we taxpayers paid for enough of your exotic and erotic vacations???

Maybe if you parked your arse in your office for the remainder of your last term as mayor, read my list of stuff that should be done and add more creative and sensible goals to that list ... and cut the cost and red tape of that massive and expensive bureaucracy that you oversee ... and stop stumping to raise taxes on residents and tourists all of the time -- then THEY (the real estate and project developers, and the tourists) WILL COME!

A good start would be at the ballot box in November.

Because we just don't get enough Mexicans coming up to LA, huh?

Isn't all this talk by the mayor and city council a hoot? They don't care about business!!! They only care about growing the welfare class and making them dependent on government in order to secure their jobs! Why are they acting like they support free enterprise, business, and tourism?

Hell, this city should be the TOURIST CAPITAL OF THE WORLD with its fine weather and glamorous movie history!!!! But our politicans and bureaucrats have ruined the city with elitist and expensive socialism. That drives productive citizens away, businesses away, jobs away, and finally tourists away.

Stop voting for losers with a (D) next to their names when you vote for politicians.

I'm not sure there's enough Romans left to stop the barbarians from sacking the country.

Hooray for HOLLYWIERD!! Aboot time someone pulled all the attractions together to make a HOMO- genous whole, After all, the pervs & crossdressers did their part in turning HOLLY-REALLY WI-E-E-E-E-E-RD into what it is today; a slelf-referencing, mincing, queer cakewalk of a place populated by LIMOUSINE LIBRETARD NEO-SOCIALIST ZOMBIES totally in thrall to "THE ONE", Hussein Obama, who tanks in popularity daily, now @ around 45% nationally.

As one who grew up in & around HOLLYW=O=O=O=OD, I've seen it change from a collection of average middle-class neighborhoods in the 'fifties to a revolutionary NEO-MARXIST MILITANT COMGREGATION of BLACK LIBERATION & STUDENT SOCIALIST TYPES in the 'sixties (anybody else remember the "CITADEL OF HATE" on Sunset Blvd. in the late 'sixties, early '70's?) to the crime-ridden quasi slum it became in the '70's, 80's ^ 90's. I've literally SEEN IT ALL, & I have a LONG MEMORY, and I still occasionally meander to H'WOOD from time to time. Hope all the marketing hoopla takes this time, & the rabble takes a collective powder, but I wouldn't bet the farm on it----thanx, MARKRITE
