Waste of airtime, waste of money and waste of brain-space. there are so many daily tragedies we are responsible for that need airspace and brain-space. But i sincerely believe this is a conspiracy to waste time on useless sensational and ghoulish grief so we avoid identifying and rectifying current and immediate human disasters and grief.

If you are not interested in the Titanic then don't watch. A person can be interested in history and also be concerned about current situations. It is called multi-tasking.
