First a question: if those schedules are meant to be changed, why are they publicizing them in advance?

Second a prediction: 3 new shows, three new bombs for the Zucker -Silverman tandem (but don't worry NBC's PR will claim at least one hit no matter what).

Funny! He's actually the reason I think the show will fail. He's a lightweight actor who doesn't have the chops or the charisma to hold a show together.

I could be wrong. We'll see.:)

Lightweight actor? Have you seen him in anything other than The O.C? He was freaking amazing in Junebug and in his latest Johnny Got his Gun. He got a lot of good reviews for both.

Also; he doesn’t have to hold the show together it's an ensemble show not a one man show.

Ben McKenzie was indeed powerful in Junebug, and he did play the character that was chosen to introduce us to The O.C. It may have been a lightweight soap opera, but it was heavily popular and I think a lot of that had to do with Ben McKenzie.
What that said, I've been looking forward to Kings. I know it's premise isn't likely to lead to a long-run, but it hooked me.

Southland can be NBC's answer going forward. A simple procedural like the CBS shows should be NBC's building block for the future. It took three years for NBC to get a new procedural on air, that's why they're deep in fourth place. If successful then they need 2 more procedurals and a new medical drama to follow in ER's footsteps plus some multi-cam comedies.

Kings can also be a show that they build around.

Sorry, I'm not seeing the "heavily popular" aspect to him. The OC was a one season wonder and did not create any lasting stars.

I wouldn't hold my breath for Kings to be a success. NBC can't even put out a poster that tells you what the show is about.

NBC's Thursday Night at the Crap-o-rama is a result of the misguided notion that SNL and The Office are, somehow, great harbor of creativity and commercial success...

You got it right Richard.:)

Of course, NBC is hard at work hyping Southland as some sort of hit.

Yesterday Variety seriously asked one of NBC's Top people what they'll do with new hit Southland now that Jay Leno is taking its place.

Apparently the fact that Southland lost audience every single week did not enter into the equation (actually another Variety article argued that Southland's ever lower ratings were caused by the basketball playoffs (and they wooping 5 million viewers!!)

NBC knows how to buy its press. Too bad it doesn't know how to make actually successful shows any longer.

NBC could have given a heads-up before abruptly taking KINGS off the air. Glad to hear it will be back.
