Since when does a fictional movie maintain the actual facts of a persons life or culture unless it's a real life story?

Sharon Her is not pleased on how the Hmong family was portrayed. What she fails to notice or mention is that not all Vietnam Vets are like Mr. Kowalski.

Its always typical of a few minorities to cry foul when something like this comes out. I find this crybaby crap appauling and ridiculous. Its a fictional movie and insensitivity isnt Clint's goal in making the movie all he wants to do is show a scenario and point of view.

One thing I would like to point out:

What you do if you thought that it was racist and insensitive to you? Would you stay with your beliefs, or say that you're right just because you're not a minority. Many views change on the base of perspective. Be a little more considerate.

Other than that, I agree that insensitiveness is not a movie's goal. The above statement has to do with you calling minorities crybabies.

Wasn't Mr. Kowalski a Korean Vet? This is the way the old school was raised. My Dad a WW2 Pacific Vet was alot like Mr. Kowalski. Being of German immagrants my Grandparents were told not to speak the German language, adopt to America. This is America, we speak English and English was the only language. We dress American. Can you believe the racist talk my Grandfather heard as a boy getting off the boat in New York from Germany in the 1800's? Times have changed.

This movie was pathetic. Thank god I watched a bootleg. I'm white and have asian friends and they were pretty insulted by the film.

I have to say, I agree. This movie was garbage and I can imagine how much crap this movie would get if it was centered around insulting blacks rather than asians.

Not only that but there was no point to the move. Clint as best actor, I didn't get. All he did was Growl like a dog the whole damn movie. lol

They're just giving him his award for his past acheivements....it's all politics in hollywood. They do that a lot when the actors going to kick the bucket soon. I've seen it at a lot of awards.

First off, East Clintwood's voice is so bad that he very soon will not be able to talk again. He mainly whispers now. Something pathological. Of course, that is never discussed by the knee-jerk, jerky movie columnists. They will kiss his ass.

So despite the hype, this probably is his last movie.

Yes, this movie had racial remarks through out it, but some people are failing to see the big picture and the story behind it. He was a sarcastic man who believed in simple ways of life. He eventually got to know his neighbors and learned to love them! The neighbors liked him too! He spoke to all of his friends the same way as well!(using racial comments to his barber and constuction buddy) He gave his life for the safety of his young, new friends. The story is what it is. I was a good message in the end.
