Jerry could sing very well, but loved his talking better. Had a real stutter that went away when he performed. RIP Mr. Reed.

RIP Jerry! Loved your music, and your movies...I`ll drink some "Coors" tonight in your honor, then stop by a "choke and puke, and throw some groceries down my neck".

Never really heard a stutter when he talked. Are you confusing him with Mel Tillis?

Wow - all the good ones are dying off. He could write serious songs and songs that would tickle your funny bone. "When You're Hot, You're Hot", love that crazy song. Rest in Peace, Jerry.

Man, I hate to see guys like Jerry Reed passing on. He was old school, talented, personable, and always making people feel better. His guitar skills were underrated, partly due to his acting. I had met Jerry more than once, while working in Nashville. He was bigger than life, and I will miss him.

RIP Snowman.

Jerry and I wrote 3 screenplays together, spending a lot of time at my house and his, creating many scenes, with me typing and me laughing when he would get up out of his chair and act out each and every scene to make sure they worked. I loved this man like a brother.
I will miss him dearly. Billy Arr

When I was ten, Billy Phillips introduced me to Jerry Reed's Travis picking. I was blown away! It sounded like three guitars in unison.
I'm thirty three now, and recently reacquainted with Jerry Reed's picking and singing. The wind has been knocked out of me.
Here's to Daddy Claxton, may his name forever stand...
And always be remembered in the courts throughout the land.
His earthly race is over, and the curtains 'round him fall...
We'll take him home to victory on the Wabash Cannonball.
We miss you Wild Man!

Jerry Reed was one of the great all 'round entertainers. He was the real deal. I'm saddened that we won't be blessed with any more of his work but thankful that he gave us what he did. I think the line was, "...gonna go to Glory ridin' 18 wheels..." God Bless Jerry Reed and his family. Thank you.

I shook Jerry's hand after a show in West Virginia about 1994. I told him "I've been trying to play guitar like you for twenty years and I still can't do it". Jerry said: "neither can I!". He was really one in a million and I'll always love him.
