I'm not a country music fan, but his music was just fun stuff to listen to. Some of the goofy things he would sing about either had you singing along or wearing a goofy grin. Not enough of that in the world today.

When you think about apple pie and the people that have made America a great place, you can't help but think about great people like Jerry Reed. He was an all-American boy with a great smile and personality. He led a great life and touched many with his music and acting. The World, and Hollywood needs more people like Jerry in it. You will be missed by all you touched. Rest In Peace Jerry.

What you saw in the movies is how he was in real life. Back in the early 80's I met him at the hotel him and Burt Reynolds opened up in Bradenton FL. Just an all around down to earth guy with a big comfy smile. RIP Jerry.

I never met the man, but I always got that impression that he wasn't acting and he was just being himself. I guess that was what people liked most about him.

Jerry Reed was and is and will remain a music legend!! His playing style emerged when he was encouraged by Chet Atkins to play the same way in the studio sessions as he did when they were jamming outside the studio in impromptu sessions at Atkins or Reed's homes. He wrote great songs, some of which were funny, while others were stirring love ballads. I think it was his unique sense of humor and his personality rather than his acting talent that lead to his success in the movies and on TV. Jerry Reed was a character all on his own! He will be missed!! RIP Snowman...

He genuinely was. It was a spanking new Holiday Inn if I remember correctly and they had Pool Party Sundays and he was there in the beginning just being Jerry and happy about us all having a great time.
