After reading your article I could Immediately tell your a amateur journalist. When reading your article the amount of opinions you have makes the PETA foundation look like a joke and clearly you didn't do your home work before writing this because sea worlds water is cleaner than the ocean's right now and they don't have a massive oil leak to deal with. All the killer whales at sea world are treated with respect and care. They are treated the same if they decide to preform or not and if you recall Corky a Orca at sea world refused to preform and she was never abused or starved. And if you don't mind me saying PETA is a very uneducated obnoxious whisper in the dark that has no effect on the public.

The authors status as a journalist (and her work with PETA) in no way invalidates her opinions or arguments. It is clear that you have a limited knowledge of where and how Orcas live in wild. The massive oil leak does not effect the entirety of the world's oceans. Open sea pens could be established in oceans that are unaffected.

Whether or not Orcas are mistreated at Sea World is beside the point. Even well treated prisoners are still prisoners. Orcas and other large animals that are kept in tanks and cages do not have the freedom of movement they would have in the wild. They are deprived of living a life as they see fit. At best the animals are living a captive, well-fed, and unnatural life. At worst they are living a severely constrained, stressful, and inhumane existence. Either way, it is within the power of our species to give these animals the chance to live an independent life.
