Once again we watched the heart-wrenching reminders of the sacrifices our citizens have made in the name of freedom. And again I notice that our national anthem is not used in the program you broadcast. Isn't it way past time to make "America the Beautiful" our national song - one that even we musically challenged can sing with enthusiasm?

Thanks to all you Veterans, families of Veterans and patriotic citizens who still support your country, law and order and the constitution of the United States. America is inperil right now, from a collapsing dollar, world economy, sell out politicians sending all our work overseas and bringing both high tech workers to take the better jobs and millions of low wage low skill workers to destabilize the wages for the jobs left. We have liars for leaders and liars for the next batch of potential leaders, our military over deployed with used up worn out equipment,is overseas while we are invaded, our liberties are threatened like no other time in our history. I hope we can reverse this decline but it sure lookslike the wheels have to fall off before American wake up and stand up to it all like real men.

I tell my father many times a year that I am proud of him for serving our country in the Korean conflict. To this day he won't talk much about it without getting upset, so I know it hurts all who have served, even decades later.

My father, Marine Corporal Terry Enfield will be in the parade. He is a member of the Marine Corps League headquartered in Colorado. He is from Nebraska where he has a cattle ranch. He did two tours in Vietnam with one of the engineering corps. Though he won the marksman award in boot camp, he never had to fire a shot in combat. He did take out a sniper with his crane once though. In addition to attending Marine Corps League events such as weddings, funerals, parades and etc, he also enjoys hunting, fishing and taking care of the ranch. His black angus cattle have won many awards and he is well known in the ranching community. He is also the president of Arthur County's Republican Party and a member of the County Draft Board.
He is my hero and I am very proud of him.
