The fact that he joined the Army to serve his country while we are at war shows great character. So many people today take our freedom for granted. However, I have served in the Army for more than 20 years and I can tell you that being a soldier is NOT something you have to force. The best soldiers are the ones that were born to do it. Just like being born to be a singer or a doctor, some people are born with a natural instinct for combat. We used to call these people "Warriors". Now the media wants to portray us as unwilling servants of a political machine. Nothing is farther from the truth. So I am very impressed that he joined and went off to war for his country. Way to go. But I am also glad that he is getting out and not pursuing a career in the military. If he had to "force it", then he needs to go do something else. I'm not talking anything away from his service. It takes great courage to willingly go to war. But don't think that it is so unnatural to fight and kill to protect what you love. That is a basic human instinct. Some of us are just better at it than others.
