The Trouble With Tea Parties

Apr 15, 2009 Full story: www.thenation.com 39

I've been trying my darndest not to follow the supposedly "grassroots" right-wing tea party revolt (organized by the likes of Dick Armey, Fox News and the Club for Growth) against dear leader Comrade Obama, but it's too amusing to completely ignore. .

Oh wait let me guess only the ACORN protesters are given credibility. If you are not on the left than you don't count. What a bunch of garbage this article was.

Yay, an article from a communist rag decrying our freedom of speech and freedom of assembly and belittling people for using those rights. F*ck "The Nation", I hope that rag goes bankrupt.

This country is perfect just the way it is. How dare people protest anything? A debt that perpetually multiplies itself, a government that knows no boundaries, and an ever increasing tax burden on the populace. What's not to love?

Every Dem/lib who screamed about Bush's spending from 2001-2006 and isn't at a tea party is nothing more than a big fat hypocrite!

The Tea Party article was pointless with no substantive criticism.
The Homeland Security memorandum reads like the plot for B a rated fictional thriller movie; one in which Alec Baldwin plays the role of president.

Yea, cause there is no difference between spending tax dollars to rebuild our infrastructure, to get our economy going again, and spending it as bonuses to CEOs and no bid contracts to companies owned by good friends.

There never was any difference between spending for booze and buying a taxi cab ride to a job interview.

Remember the only way to know what the liberals are saying is to reverse everything they say. Obama said today that he is in favor of simplifing the tax code, which translates into, you will not have a clue what it says. So everytime you read a post from a liberal hack, just reverse what they say and you will know what their really trying to say, with out saying it of course. That is why all of his campaign promises are broken, we though he actually ment what he said.

Exactly what was the infrastructure that the money has been spent on. That money went to orgainzations like Acorn and other left wingnut organizations. It hasn't built anything.

Four dikes show up in pink T-Shirts and the media does a "breaking Story!" spot. Hundreds of thousands protest the move toward socialism and only one network covers it. Typical.

Anything that comes from Fox News is NOT "grass-roots" at all..... that is mainstream media!

Not to mention..... Fox News is an AUSTRALIAN company!

NOT a US Company!!!

Fox News is NOT AMERICAN AT ALL!!!!

All they do is lie and entertain idiots who actually think they are telling them the truth.

Fox News would shudder in fear from the "Fairness Doctrine" being re-instated.... boy do I wish legally News media outlets had to report on the truth...

I'm sure the Leftist Press would love to equate The Tea Parties as organized by Fox News,,,and blame a lot of others,,,however,
there were Democrats (torgued that they even voted for Obozo, as well as Republicans (not at all pleased by Bush) and Libertarians.
Face it,,,Tea Parties today,,,who knows what comes tomorrow.

I just channel surfed the news channels to see how the various networks are covering the Tea Party's.....WHo the heck is Rachel Maddow? It's the first time I've ever seen her on TV, and she appears to be a lesbian version of Keith Olbermann with contacts!

The country is not going to lie back and take your trillion dollar screw over little Barry.
You may be the King of Pork, but we're not going to foot the bill. Obama bumper stickers make a good target.

The FOX article posted with it; "Dick Armey to Speak at Atlanta Tea Party"

Since the one is a partisan endorsement of a neo-conservative rally, and the other is a strenuous editorial against the premise of tax cuts for the rich; I thought they should be taken together, and I posted them together.

You are such a dope. The Nation is far more patriotic then 18 Limbaughs, O'Reilleys, Bushes, Cheneys, or other draft dodgeing chicken hawks you'd care to line up.

True, the Nation is left-of center; but neo-con extremism has ruined our country, and is as threadbare as your phony red-baiting.

You are a fart in the wind. I hope you learn to think someday.

What are you smoking?
You lying neo-conservatives wrecked the economy; trashed our National Honor; and were beaten like dogss in the election. Nobody likes paying taxes, but it is our patriotic duty.

What the stupid lying neo-conservatives always forget is that our nation was not founded as a oplace to not pay taxes; it was founded on freedom; including NO TAXATION WITHOUT REPRESENTATION. That does not mean NO TAXES FOR THE RICH.

You should actually read the article.
