What the heck does the title of FX's new Glenn Close drama "Damages" mean, anyway? If we're lucky, we'll spend all this season - and the next, and the next - finding out.

I saw the previews, i can't wait to watch this show. I work for a very large corporate law firm myself, the workings in,around a law firm is interesting.
I am a major fan of Glenn Close she is a superstar who can actually act. She shows always why she is a 5time Oscar nominee, a Emmy winner,if thats not enough a 3time Tony winner. She is going to give a acting class 101 on this show its going to be great.

I loved the premiere episode. But the dog collar that Patty throws in the lake .. I didn't get that. Unless, supremely manipulative, it was SHE who had the witness' dog killed? Wow!

Wow, Jerry. Maybe you should stop watching TV until you can actually absorb what's going on on the screen in front of you. I don't think you really watched it. Uncle Peter killed the dog at Patty's instructions, got paid handsomely for it, and had the dog collar delivered to Patty to show he did the job, and maybe even to show how completely heartless he and Patty are. Patty threw the dog collar into the water to show her complete disregard and indifference to a murdered animal. To call her amoral is to be kind.

I agree about the dog collar. I believe it was Patty Hewes who had Katie's dog killed. If not why did she pay for the collar only to throw it in the lake? Shrewed! Cold blooded! Amoral are mild words to describe the character. Glenn Close at her best. I wonder if she is as pathological as in "Fatal" and manipulative as in "Dangerous Liaisons" ...

I saw the premier but had it set up to tape not knowing it was a series. Just the basics please, what happened on the 2nd and third show?
