Local boy made good (Redwood High). His 1986 Robin Williams: Live at the Met is maybe the funniest stand up I've ever seen. To anyone with a bad thing to say about him I've got one word for you: SHAZBOT!

Take care of yourself. I am saying that in a purely selfish way. We need you around to make us laugh for many more years to come.

If he'd had a porcine valve, would he snort when he laughs?

Robin Williams is a Marin treasure...its great seeing him around town...he and many others can live in relative peace here v. LA or NY. Quite a shy guy off stage... Stay healthy Robin ! They say laughter is our best medicine..and you have a boat load of it to share...so keep taking (and giving) your meds.
Thank You

A bunch of us saw you (or someone that looks like you) at a local market a few months ago, and while we all wanted to approach you and tell you how much we appreciate your talents we let you eat in peace.(Good Ole Marin!) This seems like a good platform to leave a message since it doesn't impede on your privacy. Be well, and looking forward to more laughs, and movies, we ALL need it!

Many years ago, what about the time you, Robin, were walking down the sidewalk headed for the Starbucks on Sacramento Street, in camouflauge outfit, complete with a hat and boots, to wait in line with everybody else for a coffee. I was at a meeting with a friend, sipping coffee and could not get the nerve to say hello. The camouflage did not work. You are the best.

Robin Williams is way over-rated, juvenile and boring. Also, too rich for his own good. The same people who find him funny and consider him a "genius" vote for another genius: Lynn Woolsey. Funny indeed.

Well, no matter if some of the crazies come out and ruin this surprisingly civilized conversation thread: we love you Robin, and we always will. You are our own hometown hero, and funny as heck. We wish you all the best all the time. But if you drop dead on stage it won't be a joke, so stay home! Relax! Just make it a point to play the Marin Center when you're feeling better...

Robin-get well--completely. Knowing that you live here makes it tolerable. Your doctor should put
you on a Beta Blocker until you are completely
well-IMO. A drug like Toporol would prevent the
heart muscle from beating too fast. If a Doc is in
the house--school me.

Theres always at least one person who loves to rain on the parade. Jeeeez. Mr. Williams is, indeed, a comic genius. I watched, for the first time a few days ago, "Good Morning, Vietnam". I'd never seen it.
If that isn't a comic genius on the screen, I don't
know what is. Man, lighten up a little. He puts his heart and soul in his performances -- even the
"free", impromptu ones. Personally, I like this
crazy world a lot better knowing he's in it.
As far as being too rich for his own good ........
you sound a tad sour grapes jealous to me.

The "lure of the stage" or the overwhelming ego got ahold of Robin Williams? I say it was merely his ego. He couldn't stand to just be an average person in the back. He HAD to get himself out there. AND... he isn't even all that funny. A decent drama actor.... but a poor funny man. That lame chuckle of his is hard to listen to.

why bother replyng on this site if you can't write anything worth reading? I think it would be awesome to go to a show and get to see someone like Robin "just happen to perform" for you, not too many comics/actors get "out there" and mingle with everyday people like Robin does!
