...find it hard to believe Robert Redford is turning 70. He makes my heart skip a beat...a few beats....his presence would probably cause a cardiac arrest. Does this mean Robert Redord's bad for my health? CPR and Robert Redford...i'll take my chances..just forget the AED...and bring on the Robert!

I also find it hard to believe that Robert is turning 70, BUT i also found it hard to believe that I just turned 46, so we all get old if were lucky. Having Leukemia I would love to be able to turn 70, So good for him! He still looks great and he is as old as he feels. I would love to be next to him when he turns 70! I have been watching his movies since I was 12, so I think i earned it! Just Kidding, But really would'nt all of us love to look like him at his age. So Happy Birthday! Down with Redford in Boston

Robert Redford is turning 69. It is wrong information that he is born in 1936. He is born in 1937. But half the informations on internet says 1937, and that is right. I agree that he looks great. He is the most handsome man I have ever "seen". But he is also very intelligent, vital, a great actor, a great director, the creator of Sundance and he fights for preserving the environment. He is a person I have to admire.

You are right Sunflower
Bob was born in 1937, and he said so in Dallas, on May 2004, and I was there.

Now I have to correct myself...
Today I saw a copy of what Robert Redford himself has written to his fan club. And he is writing about himself that he is 70 years this year. So I have to change my last corrections... I wish the correct informations would be on internet, and not both 1936 and 1937. But I have heard that other people have said they have heard Bob said he was born in 1937, so I think this is a difficult topic. I admire him for his great talents and work anyway if he is 69 or 70. But I believe his own words to his serious fan club so I accept that he is 70 years now.

The old saying is believe half of what you read...and no one knows for a fact he himelf writes those little articles for the fan club...I understand a staff member does that which makes far more sense...he's a veeery busy man between Sundance, his Napa home and all his projects, which are many..I can't see him truly getting time for writing fan club articles...anyway all I'm hoping is that he makes it to Broadway. Be happy to see you back in New York Bob..and on stage where you started.

Thanks for all the memories. I would also love to see more of Tony Hillerman books turned into movies like the (I hope) first two Mr. Redford directed. I thoroughly enjoyed them and would appreciate more.
Thanks again for all of Mr. Redford's movies, in front of and behind the camera.

Hello Dawn, yeah i'm the same one who replied to 'Type of Woman' incorrectly as it turns. I was skipping through these comments and saw one by You that states You have leukimia...I'm sorry, very sorry. You asked me about Blade Cutter. Me...I cut and polish aircraft propeller blades for art, metal sculpture. I also do airworthy blades on aircraft. Hence, "Blade Cutter". I'm a 53 yr old hippie, refuse to give it up. My best wishes for You and if You ever get in touch with Bob, i have an experience that involves Him as well as Paul Newman and Katherine Ross He may like to know of. Jim Stevens

I can't believe Robert Redford is almost 71 years old in August. He was always a very good looking guy, and still is.One of my favorite movies of him was Up close and personal; and Horse Whisperer, I Believe.

I don't care how old Robert Redford is , or the movies he has made. I just want him to connect by letter or email ...My advice to him: pay attention to your instincts...

Ellen, if you care about RR at all you should care about the movies he has made, because his movies contain his work. And he deserves respect for his work.

Hi Sunflower,I can sense now how my posting sounds disrespectful. Yes Mr. Redford definitely does deserve respect for his large body of work and for his deep concern for independent filmakers as well as his passion for the environment. But, really his work and his looks are not the main reason I am interested in contacting him. I feel in my gut there may be something important for either one of us or both of us to learn..I know it soounds odd.I guess it is kind of difficult to express in words.

I am glad that you also think that Redford deserves respect for all his work. I think there are many people that wish to meet Redford, but few that get the chanche. I hope that he will meet the people that it is good for him to meet.
Good luck to you Ellen.

I have been a fan of Robert Redford since I was about 12. I have seen everything he has ever done. He is magnificent, gorgeous, intelligent and I have the greatest respect for him and for everything he does. My goal in life is to one day meet him in person and tell him how much I admire him and his work in movies, directing, politics, environmental issues, Sundance and independent films ... he is great. Happy 70th birthday, Mr. Redford!
