I'd have to say if there had been a contest, Prince won.

I like what the author Michael L. Frizell had to say.

Prince racked up a lot of hits with a larger catalog of albums. Plus, he got the box office money from the smash film, "Purple Rain" and his other less successful films. The man actually starred in his full features, which people had to pay full price tickets for in order to see them. In Michael Jackson's case, his videos were shown for free on MTV. I remember Prince's "1999" "Little Red Corvette" "When Doves Cry" "Let's Go Crazy" "I Would Die 4 U" and "Rasberry Beret" Prince still knows how to play musical instruments, writes all his material and produced every piece of music himself. Michael Jackson needed session musicians and Quincy Jones.

even boy george is a better artist then michael jackson. at least he didn't diddle and pay off little boys. michael was a demented, delusional, freakish pedo. he got away with it because of money and 2 star struck jurors that wouldn't accept michael was a pedophile.

Boy George was better than Michael Jackson. Most everything on MTV back in the eighties was. Despite the floons claims, Michael was not the first black artist played on MTV. That was one of Jacko's first lies. I remember they played Musical Youth before Wacko. And another lie was that Michael invented the movie concept for video. Duran Duran "Hungry Like The Wolf" was shot like a movie. Again, made before "Bille Jean" or "Thriller" Actually, I would say that Prince's "Purple Rain" clips were from his actual blockbuster film. It definitely help sell both the album and the movie. Prince destroyed Michael Jackson in the eighties to the early nineties. He had more hits and made more albums.
