Spike Lee's Malcolm X Will Be Added To Library Of Congress

The Library of Congress has selected Spike Lee's 1992 biopic about Malcolm X and a 1959 film dramatization of a discussion between blacks and whites about jazz are among the images that will be preserved as part of its National Film Registry.

I was living in Montana when this film came out and the local theater received bomb threats when they announced they were going to show this film. I finally had to watch it on video thanks to out local inbred white supremacists! Great film!!

X definitely should have won. It should have won the trifecta, best director, film, and actor.

The film is incredible and it still holds up to this day. Denzel channeled Malcolm. When you watch the film you forget that it's Denzel.
The entire cast was stellar. Delroy lindo's portrayal of west indie Archie is classic.
There are so many scenes that hit home. they transfix you.
The moment when Malcolm confronts his Muslim mentor "baines" saying "this ain't no hustle, isn't that what you told me baines?"

man, that's a sick scene. Malcolm had come to the realization that the nation itself was a hustle.

malcolm X was not a racist. he was not full of hate. malcolm X talked about what white police officers, white politicians, white people and white businesses were doing. malcolm x never talked about killing or hurting anyone. all malcolm x said was black people should protect theirselfs. this was back in the 50's and 60's. he had every right and reason to make those comments. malcolm x was shot because, he changed some of his thinking. he went to different colleges to express for black, white and all races should learn how to live together in the united states. he was supposed to have been shot for changing some of his line of thinking to all races should learn to live together. so for you to say you are glad he got shot is very ignorant. read his book before you make a very stupid comment like that.

malcom x went to hajj in mecca, sudi arabi and he traveled to egypt and I believe he went to ghana. He came back to america as a new man. His eyes had been opened and he said he prayed with white muslims and black muslims. He said he believed that sunni islam was the awnser to the problems in america.
The NOI and FBI did not like the idea of blacks becoming sunni muslims. So I belive Malcom was killed by NOI and FBI joining forces for different reasons but same outcome.
