We've lost another Icon in broadcast journalism. Mike Wallace brought dignity & professionalism to the news. Unlike the soap opera they call news today. Mike didn't cut anybody any slack.

Winston Churchill once said "I am prepared to meet my maker. If my maker is prepared for the great ordeal of meeting me, is another matter." The same applies to Mike Wallace. Thanks Mike.

I remember this guy in his later days on "60 Minutes" , and this guy was a true journalist.. Friend or foe , he'd hammer them. From Ayatollah Khomenei , to Ronald and Nancy Reagen , even Malcolm X.. It didn't matter. Mike never asked stupid , irrelevant questions , and he wouldn't let his subjects dodge any questions.

Compare that to the clowns we're stuck with now. IDK , like Katie Couric. That hack could land an interview with , say , Osama Bin Laden (when he was upright and breathing), and proceed to ask the dumbest questions , like "What's your favorite tree" , or "Do you watch American television , and if so , what's your favorite show".

You know , really HARD HITTING questions (sarcasm).

We lost a good one today. RIP Mr. Wallace

I'll never forget this as long as I live. 60 Minutes aired reruns of some of Mikes interviews. One was about a used car dealer in Texas who was turning the miles back on the cars he sold. When he heard those words "Mike Wallace is here." He sat down at his desk, put his head in his hands and said "Oh Sh*t." Then the guy just breaks out laughing! "You got me don't Ya'?" Mike says "Yeah." And they're both laughing like crazy.

Well of course the guy goes to prison for a while. But when he gets out, Mike goes back to see him and they're like two old buddies. Laughing and joking, having a great time. I guess you had to see it to appreciate it, but it was hilarious!
