David Tennant stars in a triumphant 'Hamlet'

I've seen this production (it was broadcast in the UK the day after Christmas and has been for sale there since early January) and it is truly remarkable.
I hope desperately that people will give it a chance because as far as I'm concerned there has been no better Hamlet than Tennant.

I have seen both the stage production in Stratford-Upon-Avon and the filmed adaptation. It is an amazing production in either format. I am anxiously awaiting the airing on PBS so that my children can experience it as well. I never agreed with the melancholy portrayal of Hamlet, it always rang false. The tormented, vengeful Hamlet seems truer to my interpretation of the play. I love it!

I read this review in my Washington Post TV supplement today and was blown away by how much more literate and intelligent and well written it is than what one is used to. I hope the Hamlet is as good as Mr. Crook's review.
