Michael J. Fox talks to Oprah about his fight with Parkinson's

Actor, husband, writer and activist Michael J. Fox is speaking out about stem cell research, his life with Parkinson's Disease and his new book, "Always Looking Up" on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" on Tuesday, March 31, 2009.

I was diagnosed in 2002 with Rapid onset Dystonia.
I wish that Dystonia was discussed more. Many people suffer in silence with this "disease of distortion." I had Deep Brain Stimulation done in 2003. I went from being wheelchair bound, and unable to see)blepharospasm or talk to being able to walk talk and see again
I am a spokespreson for the dystonia foundation.
I am very surprised that Dr. Oz did not talk about
Deep Brain Stimulation for Dystonia and Parkinson disease. The Big focus was on Michael J. Fox. I feel his pain as the young women with dystonia

I want to thank Oprah, Michael and the brave young women who is bringing Dystonia out to the open. I have had Dystonia for 14 yrs, I would so much love to talk to others. I recieve 600 units of botox and so many meds. I wish more information was given. DBS is not for everyone! That could be why Dr Oz did not discuss it. I would really love to talk to the women on the show. Dr Oz might be a bit stunned on how my doctors believe I got Dystonia. I hope everyone with Dystonia has more good hours than bad

To Dystonian. I am a women and know what you are going through. I know why Dr. Oz did not speak about DBS with Michael there. After exhasting all resources of medicines and botox injection I finally had DBS. I would believe anything on how you got it. I hope to hear from you and pray that you have more good days than bad from this disease of distortion
