Mr. harley dog or Ramos' lap dog? If you've done your homework you would find that MOST of the deputy district attorneys in all DA's offices throughout the state, are former defense attorneys because of their experience. Just ask most of the judges what their background is. You have to be realistic, do you for one second believe that things are going to get better with Ramos? To say that Guzman is going to let criminals out is ludicrous. You apparently haven't taken the time to look into his record.
As i said ramos is a boob and think about most of the DA's are defense attorneys look at what is running around on the streets do you see tougher penaltys?NO do you see less crime? NO you can have your defense attorneys i want a prosecuter!! DA's in office now getting you safer streets? NO you can have ramos and the tards like him!!! I am voting for Mr. Gary Ovitt.

All of my friends at our church are going to support/phone campaign for Supervisor Gary Ovitt. He is the BEST Supervisor for this county.

Wait till you find out about the judicial cadidates. They have some real skeletons in their background that general public doesn't even know about. No wonder they couldn't get appointments and had to run for office.
Ed Montgomery for Superior Court Judge seat #29 has ZERO skeletons in the closet.

He is the ONLY candidate who has taken voters seriously enough to go get experience as a substitute judge BEFORE asking for your vote. He is also the only candidate campaigning for his seat.

As for his opponent I would not be surprised to see even more skeletons in Vic Stull's closet past the affair, the lackluster performance in the DAs office, and his buddy buddy relationship with Ramos. The real question is how bad is Stull that he has to run for office and his buddy Ramos can't arrange an appointment.

As for Ed he is running a true grassroots campaign and in a situation where only Ramos' handpicked and approved judges are seated to the detriment of our community he came forward at his own expense to run for his seat.

No skeletons here. ZERO. He is the ONLY candidate willing to go on the record about ANYTHING anytime.

The other race for judge well that is anyone's guess what else is out there.

America's sweetheart you haven't done your research on the other cadidates. There are three others seeking election to the judicial bench. One tried to get appointed and and couldn't so "they" had to run unopposed. As for Montgomery, did he try to get appointed? Did he make it past the Jenny commision? As for Stull, you sound like you have a personal vendetta against him.

There's no correlation between being a defense attorney and being soft on criminals. Guzman is a former prosecutor, so by your logic he would have been a horrible defense attorney to his own clients. Plus, why would he be soft of crime just by being a defense attorney? You assume too much on his motivations on why he became a defense attorney. Unless you have any proof to back up your claims, your statements hold no weight, and the fact that you have to resort to name-calling means that you don't have enough intelligence to speak in a reasonable and logical manner.

No one makes it to JNE (Jenny) in San Bernardino county if you are not Ramos' cronies. If you are not his "bud" you don't get an interview with JNE. So you are right look at all of Ramos' cronies on the ballot as suspect because he slapped his stamp of approval on them for their failed interviews.

As for Ed - no cronies to help him - no interview with JNE - he would be there in a heartbeat and with his peer reviewed legal awards for ethical conduct, excellent legal skills, and ten years of courtroom management skill he would pass.

JNE is political its operation changes with each governor and who knows how the next governor will run it.

Right now if you don't have the local politicos favor because you are not in the DAs office (notice more than 90% of appointments are DAs) then you have no prayer until there is a new governor. Then again who knows who that will be.

So for a qualified candidate like Montgomery he is rolling the dice hoping that voters see substance over a few slapped together commercials. Notice that he is the ONLY candidate with published appeals cases. You would think 20 plus years one of them would have been trusted with at least one appeals case.

Are you saying that because Lemkau passed JNE he is then the most qualified candidate this election?

Sadly the JNE reports are never made available to the public to examine to see who passed and who failed miserably. Perhaps this is why these candidates are NEVER seen in public. The legal community knows, as you demonstrate, but the voters never know.

Also if enough favors are due the governor can always ignore JNE entirely and point who he wants.

JNE is an unfair barometer of an independent grassroots candidate, but should be considered when you look at a candidate who has been in the DAs office years and years to have other turds float to the top of the pond to become judges and they have sat there just waiting it out despite their apparent favor from Ramos.

Again - no skeletons with Ed - but he is an odd bird in the world of attorneys because he does not hold himself out to be "better" than other people. He was an unlikely guy to become an attorney. He started his career out as a research chemist, then when he did not like how he was treated representing himself pro-per in a divorce fighting for his children he decided to go to law school. The rest is history. He has been fighting to help families ever since. 80% of the litigants in family court according to the Elkins report come to court without an attorney. He is the only candidate talking about how the system needs to help these families and have judges that have the courtroom management skills to handle these cases. He is the only candidate to legislate in Sacramento on legal issues.

Ed is good for the community, not paid off by special interest groups, and has excellent legal skills. He has a record on the bench. Ask bailiffs about his courtroom management skills. Ed is a candidate overlooked by the establishment because family court is just not as "sexy" as criminal but it certainly impacts many more families.

As for Stull - no personal vendetta - don't trust him - look who he hangs around with.....

BUT FOR SAFETY OF EVERYONE DON,T ELECT A DEFENSE ATTORNEY JUST SAY NO TO A CONVICTS BEST BUDDY SAY NO TO FRANK GUZMAN!!
Again, this is Ellis, Ramos' over priced campaign consultant making stupid comments.

I've known him for years- ELLIS is so PREDICTABLE with his ignorant comments. He can't fool us with his "I don't know about politics" He needs to go home to Orange County, San Bernardino is for the Big Boys in politics, he's way out of his league. All his malicious tactics will come back to haunt him.

David Ellis has always used this tactic of speaking like a moron, and pretending to be against the candidate he supports to attack the other candidates. Not effective, we've all heard this from him before. It gets old.

I have heard of the candidates Lemkau and Hoskings for seat #11. I also noticed that there is another seat #29 for judgeship, and the candidates there are Stull and Montgomery. I do not know these candidates personally but I have noticed that there is more publishing of Mr. Stull in this newspaper and very little to none on Montgomery. It amazes me how the old boys club of San Bernardino sticks together and gets endorsements and acknowledgements from so many big names and companies here in our county. However, I am voting on the mere fact of experience, not who is in who's club/group of friends. After reading up on these two candidates, my vote is for Ed Montgomery. You can write all you can about "the good old boys of San Bernardino" but my vote is for the Men of San Bernardino, one of whom is Ed Montgomery.

To the Editor,

Between 2001 and 2002, while Keith Johnson was the Democratic Candidate running against Congressman Jerry Lewis for the 41st Congressional District; Jane Un was under siege by the San Bernardino County D.A.’s office under Dennis Stout, concerning the “Doughnut Hole.” During that time period, Keith and I were also supporters of Frank Guzman, as he was running for District Attorney against Ramos.

We went to Frank Guzman’s office and asked Frank if he would defend Jane Un. Frank was really excited to take on San Bernardino since he was running against Ramos, while “enraged” that they had sent her to prison without a conviction. Keith and I took Jane to Guzman’s office where she dropped off a large bundle of documents concerning her case, and more documents on follow-up appointments. One night, at about 9:30 pm, we went to Grand Terrace to Guzman’s house to deliver some money, as she called him from her cell, while we sat in his driveway, but she did not give it to him there, because he said to give it to him at his office. I had accompanied Jane to his office numerous times. Guzman has also been to her house as a guest.

Sometime after the election, we also networked with “Friends of Frank Guzman” in hopes of securing a Judgeship. I went to Congressman Baca, despite their bad-blood, to request him to assist Guzman by introducing him to Sharon Davis, when she attended one of the Congressman’s events. Congressman Baca was gracious enough, with all humility, to introduce Guzman to Sharon Davis [while the First Lady of California]. Keith and I also took Frank Guzman to Sharon Davis on his behalf, at the event, since we had a relationship with her family. Governor Davis offered the Judgeship to Guzman, but he turned it down for whatever reason. My letter is simply to reveal the truth, since I am on the side of truth, since Keith and I are not enemies of either sides in this matter.

Sincerely,

Luciano Sartoresi
