Mr. Estrada is the only candidate that understands what parents and RUSD residents are concerned with. We want Board Members who will not depend on the hard working tax payers to supplement their mistakes ( parcel tax ). We want Board Members who focus on the entire school district not just certain areas. Mr. Estrada will provide transparency regarding our district budget and he will extend honest affection to all of our neighborhoods within the district. Safety was not mentioned in this article, why? Once again Mr. Estrada, because of his experience in law enforcement, will help in providing the much needed support that our Campus Officers should have and he will provide leadership in safety issues throughout our district. He will raise morale and govern with compassion. Mr. Estrada will only be focused on one group of people, our children/students.

My vote is for Kimo Morris, an educator, businessman, and concerned parent. As a parent of a RUSD 4th grader and husband to a Rowland HS alumnus, he is motivated to help the District meet its mission. He has given numerous free presentations in between teaching on science and the environment to Rainbow Pre-School, Blandford Elementary, Rincon Intermediate, and Rowland High School. He has served on the Strategic Planning Committee, helped with several foundation projects, served on the RUSD Technology Committee. He is also the current Blandford Elementary School's PTA President. We need someone with budgeting and management skills, a personal understanding of challenges faced by parents and educators, and a global perspective of the future direction of American education.

if this is the Dr. Kimo i think it he's pretty dang amazing.
He's been volunteering at my kids school for the last four years and is very VERY active in the community. He's the president of the school's PTA and a pretty cool guy.
He cares about Rowland Heights and it shows. I hope he gets elected. I mean, he's already doing more then most people are

Phillip Estrada is a parent of 4, former West Covina Community Services Commissioner, Human Resources Commissioner, Sports Council Member, Oswalt Academy School Site Council Chairperson, Oswalt Academy PTSA Parliamentarian, RUSD Superintendent Parent Council Member and Former Member of RUSD Strategic Planning Team! These are all outstanding examples of giving back to the community. This is the type of leader I want to lead our students to excellence!! Phillip Estrada is definitely not most people. VOTE PHILLIP ESTRADA!!!!

I met him the other day, what passion he had. I have been told that he is the only candidate walking our neighborhoods and I see his signs everywhere. He is truly dedicated to improving our school district and helping our children succeed in school and in life. My vote goes to Phillip Estrada.

I must say that Dr. Kimo Morris is awesome. He is in this for the students. I have known Kimo for five years and have found him to always put the kids' best interest first. I have never met someone so enthusiastic about everything he does - and always giving 100%. He has donated countless hours in the classrooms throughout our district, he is PTA president, and knows that he can make a difference for our kids.

If the incumbents need to take a desperate attempt at a parcel tax they probably can't manage that well. Since Prop 98, about 40% of the tax revenue from the world's 8th largest economy (CA) is spent on education- they can't manage with that kind of money?

Kimo Morris has my vote!! As a former student of RUSD I can't say enough about this candidate. He is a motivated hard working man who has donated an enormous amount of time and energy in our classrooms and as a PTA president. We need his leadership and dedication to help improve our school district and community. As a father with children in the district he has proven himself many times over the years and has our children and our district as his highest priority.

I find it interesting that there is all this talk about Kimo Morris and Rowland Heights. What about the rest of the district? I heard through the grape vine that Phillip has been been walking door to door to door in West Covina (part of the district) La Puente (yup that one too)Industry (you get the point) and Kimo you will be happy to know that Rowland Heights is also included. Dr. Morris it is my understanding that you are a Professor and it has a widely held belief that those who cannot do it, teach it. So stick with what you know.

Good luck Phillip and let us all hope that our district will be represented true leader and not by another educrat.

Dr. Kimo Morris expresses his concern for the education of ALL Rowland Unified students, not just those living in Rowland Heights. He understands that improving the conditions for educating any one child means improving the educational conditions for many children, and knows firsthand the importance of parental involvement in education. He recognizes that the challenges facing our schools may vary in specifics, but are essentially the same in a broader context. I support Dr. Morris because he is a firm believer in the value of education for all students, and the value of education as an underpinning of society. He respects the work of the people who are charged with educating our children daily, while at the same time does not hesitate to ask clarifying questions when needed. He combines intellect, passion, and honesty, all qualities that I, for one, look for in an elected leader.
