There are public figures, they gave up their rights for privacy a long time ago.

I totally agree with arghh. When you devote yourself to Hollywood and stardom, you become a public figure. Anything that happens to you or your family becomes public news. It's part of the deal. I think most people want to express their sorrow and don't know how to do it.

Letting these nutjobs alone is what let them and their cult ignore the kid's disabilities. Letting them alone is what let them kill the defective kid so they and the cult wouldn't have to explain why he wasn't being treated.

Sandy...The Travoltas are WACKOS and ate up with Science Fiction and incorporated such nonsense in neglecting an innocent child who needed Medical care. The only one I feel for is Jett himself and may god bless his innocent soul in all this inanity. They should not be left alone but rather prosecuted for neglecting Jetts Medical treatment!

They believe in a different religion and they gave him medication for his seizure disorder. Just because you don't believe in it doesn't make it wrong just something you don't believe in. Jevoha (?) Witness don't believe in blood transfusions and will bleed to death but no one stops them. In the USA we have the right to practice what we believe in.

To Dove and Poor Jett, YOU DON'T have the right to tell a parent what is right or wrong for THERE Children. You raise yours the way you want and let these people raise there's the way they feel is right. IF this whole world ran on one religion or one sidedness / I think we would all be in a lot of trouble. To Sandy who lives across the street from the famly. I can only wish them my heart felt sympathy and they should know that not eveyone out there just wants to take a peek into there privite lives, I totally understand what they are going through and I can say that YES it is very hard and it will be for a long time, going into that childs room or seeing anything that made that child happy in his 16 years. MAY GOD (how ever he beleives) BLESS THEM ALL

You really need to read up on $cientology. I know they gave him his MEDICAL medication. In this country we have the right to refuse medication and parents can refuse to give their children medication as long as it is not life threatening. Refusing to give him medication for any possible mental health issue is NOT life threatening. I don't have to know scientology I know medical and mental health laws. Religious rights are just that rights.

Religious rights are just that rights. Yes, and the story doesn't make MEDICAL sense. Why would they give him a old second line seizure med? Why would they take him OFF that one seizure med when he was seizing out more despite the better judgment of common medical practice? It's not that hard as a first year intern would know that... Would it have anything to do with his mother and the cult beliefs of both parents about the fear of that particular medication they "say" was used? You can cite all the laws you want - they are STILL negligent parents.
