"Don't move your business from L.A. and take those jobs away from me."

Well, keep taxing companies to death along with the citizens, you'll have an impossible task of keeping companies from moving out of state.

Increasing utility rates 20% per year won't help either.

Cortines should be more worried about that 37% drop out rate, which might have something to do with the 37% poverty rate that is forecast for Los Angeles. Since 1990, Los Angeles has 1 million more people living in it (the estimated number of illegal immigrants living here, by the way) and 300,000
fewer jobs. Unless the Mayor revives Prop 187, this City is going someplace in a bucket, fast.

LOL, I loved the comment "do we have to do everything with Antonio".

I agree. I have some work the mayor can do at my apartment. Send him over.

Or I can also serve on a crew to moniter street traffic while the streets get repaved. Hand me my bright orange vest, my whistle, give me 8 hours of training, and then give me a job doing it. I need a job, even a temp job.

There's a lot of us who need jobs. I'm thinking about 12% of us would be happy to "roll up our sleeves" with the mayor. Is the mayor hiring???

Oh boy.....the condescension. It's something else.

Oh, I do dare to dream, Antonio. I dream that you quit the job of mayor to do something you're qualified to do - like clean toilets - and you're replaced with a competent mayor who hasn't sold his soul to special interests.

"...we have a suggestion to make the [Birmingham Charter High School's] administrators truly suffer: Sentence them to watch 'Bruno' multiple times."
A completely reasonable remedy considering no humans/minors were harmed during the shoot in question. We'll your suggestion under advisement.
