I have no interest in seeing this movie. After Cohen shilled it all over television, I've seen enough of it to suspect trash. One friend described how she felt in seeing it: disturbed. Who needs that? If I want to be disturbed, all I need is to read the news.

I have to agree with that.
Just look at our nation's elected officials. They are a direct reflection of the lower bar that we apparently desire in terms of decorum, political acumen and constructive, tangible knowledge.
With that being said, although I'm not a fan of Cohen's comedy, I would say that his movies are the perfect catalyst to bring out the stupidity that is prevalent among very many Americans. We're not nearly as upright, intelligent or self-secure as we try to fool ourselves into thinking we are. Many Americans are ignorant, unintelligent cowards who simply have big mouths, but nothing worthwhile to contribute. The worst part about that is most of these breathing clods vote.
You do realize that he plyed his trade in England and Europe for years before "making it big" in America the last few years. Ali G was consistently making Europeans look like ignorant fools for years--so does that mean that the whole world is filled with ignorant fools that stand at the feet of people like Cohen?

Take Borat, shave off his bushy mustache and dye his hair blond (and make him gay) and you end up with BRUNO Sacha Baron Cohen's latest mockingly-funny "candid camera" buffoonery.
