Lilly Tomlin Show-Disgusted and Angered

I won tickets from the show this week. They said that her show was going to be family friendly. It was far from that. Well my husband and I only stayed for the first five minuets. We were totally disgusted and angered and looked at each other and knew we werenÂ’t going to just sit there and listen to her bash our troops, the war and Bush and Chaney. I could not believe the amount of applause whistles and laughs that she got from the crowed. I was disappointed with Jerry Seinfeld when he was here with all of his GD remarks but tonight I felt as though I was in San Francisco not North West Florida (George Bush Country) quoting Waylon Graham. To think that only a few weeks ago this same civic center was filed with patriotic Americans who gathered to honor our local veterans and Sgt. Joshua Cope. Who was severely injured in that very war she was bashing tonight. We stormed out and when we got to the will call window a worker knew what was happening. They could hear the show out there and when we explained our discussed and anger, they said other patrons asked before hand if she was going to bash President Bush, the war and the Troops. They told us that they already asked and were told that would not be part of the show. Well it was and I for one will be writing a letter to the Bay Arts Alliance, the Marina Civic Center and another business that sponsored Lilly Tomlin. The gentleman working the event tonight wanted us to fill out a compliant form. He gave us one and My husband wrote down just what I have told you tonight.

Get over it, Ashley, she told it like it is. Bush is the WORST president in U.S. history. it will take decades to recover from the debris field he is leaving behind him for others to deal with. How did she "bash" our troops? Because she thinks the war is a horrible miscalculation in its genesis and execution?
You may want to know, the vice president is Cheney, not Chaney. Also, disgust is not spelled "discussed". I've often thought it takes a superior intellect to understand Tomlin's humor and nuance, and you are an example of why dolts don't *get* her. Go read an Ann Coulter book, or better yet, find a Hooks on Phonics package and learn to spell.
We saw the show and thought it was superb; Lily at her best. Lily has spent her life making the world a better place, making millions of people forget about their worries, if only for an hour or two. My guess is you whine and make people miserable.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Edith Hightower
P.S. Lily is spelled with one L, Mrs. Clueless. It's NOT Lilly! "We stormed out". Heh.

I saw her show last night and it was GREAT!!!(And it was certainly "family friendly".) At NO point did she malign or, otherwise, make unsupportive remarks directed at or concerning our troops. Moreover, her show took place in a highly conservative and defense / military-supported city and she was very well-received by the large, and likely very conservative, crowd.
Ashley, take a breath and learn to take a joke. Everyone is entitled to her opinion, including celebrities. Oh, and BTW, Lily Tomlin is not just any celebrity, she is a national treasure. YOUR TICKET WAS FREE for heaven's sake - you should really have been very grateful to have been able to see her live.
Quit pitching such a fit, it's unseemly.

Typical Bush supporter "Disgusted and Angered" by someone who points out the emperor has no clothes. How often have you been disgusted and angered by disemboweled, charred Iraqi children killed by Bush's senseless and poorly planned invasion of a country who had ZERO highjackers aboard on the day of 9/11? Get some perspective, there are far more things to "storm out" of a room about.
I'd love to know how you feel about the way the aftermath of Katrina was handled; did THAT anger and disgust you, or do you reserve your pissy attitude for humor that sails over your head?
If you come back, tell us exactly how Lily, in any way, denigrated the troops.
