What is a strut wheel? This was mentioned by an aviator/1930s barnstormer, in a lecture in 1952. He says "There were two mechanics had a fight out on the right wingtip and there's a strut cracked out there or a strut wheel cracked out there and you better replace that."
From searching the internet, I found it used about 10 times, but there wasn't enough information to tell what it really meant. Does anyone have any information they can give me? Thanks.
