'Narnia:' Stash it in the wardrobe and start over

Those nagging ''minor'' problems that burdened ''The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe'' take center stage in ''Prince Caspian,'' the second of seven ''Chronicles of Narnia'' to make it to the big screen.

If this review is accurate, then this movie is a real disservice to a wonderful series of books.

I do confess that I found the 4 child actors very flat in the first film, not at all like those I pictured in the books...

Then again, maybe the Christian symbolism of the Narnia books is what really turned off the reviewer.(For instance, if he felt that the director of "Shrek" should never have been allowed to direct another movie, did he pan "Shrek" when it came out?)
And I seem to remember that the first "Harry Potter" movies were attacked for following the books too closely (which somehow is a crime to movie reviewers).

I didn't like the first one very much and this one doesn't look much better.

Talking beavers and the like are a little too much for my reasonable suspension of disbelief.

When CS Lewis wrote "The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe" he dedicated it to a little girl named Lucy. If I remember correctly, he said he forgot that little girls grew up faster than stories do, so she was too old for the fairy tale when it was finally written and published and would just have to wait until she was old enough to enjoy them again.

I guess I'm old enough because I found them delightful -- talking beavers and all.

Saw it, and I liked it, but not as much as the first movie.
