Humm, that something just might be an oil crunch, you know, the kind that stops all transportation, including food shipments to the supermarkets. Maybe not as exciting as meteors from space or giant landslides and tsunamis, just mass death by starvation/violence. It's a tried and true method with a long track record. But I'm sure 2012 is just a coincidence...

Don't you remember the made-for-TV move where global warming caused everything to freeze over? Now if world is going to end in 2012, then all the global warming fanatics are out of a job. Who gives a cr*p about a little global warming when we're all going to get slam dunked anyway.

2012 is the end of a 26,000 year era in all indigenous calendars, not just the Mayan calendar. It does not mean the end of the world, but it is the end of an era. Women will take over as world leaders to save the planet and its people. The new generation will step up and take their rightful place of leadership. It is all over for greedy white men in suits who have run the world for far too long.

Just returned from a South Pacific regional science meeting where a speaker revealed that the coral atoll islands they have been surveying are increasing in size, not shrinking as predicted by global warming-induced sea level rise! Apparently the corals did not get the memo, and are in fact growing faster in the warmer waters, thereby keeping up with rising seas and adding mass to the beaches in those places where monitoring measurements are being made.
