Looks to me like he was taking at least 2 too many kinds of pills. Why do you need to take TWO kinds of anti-anxiety AND TWO kinds of sleep aids all at the same time? Isn't one of each more than sufficient? I wonder if this is the reason for the accidental overdose? I wouldn't be surprised...

Well, that's essentially what they're saying -- too many pills at once.

Unless his doctor was incredibly negligent, I suspect he was self-medicating -- perhaps combining old prescriptions with new ones in a misguided effort to reduce his symptoms. There are times when I've used up old medications long (months/years) after they had been prescribed to me just because it's easier than going back to the doctors and getting a new batch. But I've never combined prescribed medications in that way.

The elephant in the room that no one has discussed is "addiction". It is evident that there was a problem. More people die today from "prescription drug" overdose than form Heroin overdoses. There is no stigma with the misuse of prescription drugs, so many who have the resources use them, abuse them, and die by them.

Drug counselor Louise, I have a question for you: How do you or anyone know if this gentleman ingested an unsafe, contaminated or unsafe batch. We should not be quick to judge and need to cover all bases because there is some very dodgy buisiness going on out there that is not being revealed. Surely, not all the high profile people who took antidepressants were drug addicts. Make the connection before judgements are passed out. Where is the proof or evidence that the pills he ingested were safe? We will not go done this path either because this kind of information is very secret. It will completely destroy the credibility of BIG PHARMA. Know we would not want that, would we!

In fact, it was the precription Xanax he OD'd on and subsiquently died all alone in his bedroom. There was at least 1 other drug in his system, but xannies were the main suspect.
Anyone who has taken them and ppl who know there prescription meds or there drugs, will know they are one to be v-cautious of. The BENZO family are sneeky l'ill bastards and shouldn't be taken lightly, just because there not CLASS A or B clasified is no guide to there potential to cause harm. TT

Who are the idiots. The people who do not want to know about the dangers of these medicines that do not come with appropriate warning labels. The poor man is dead however, we should not turn a blind eye to those who are alive and are ingesting them especially if one is in the 'russian roulette' game of getting a tampered, unsafe or contaminated batch. Awareness + knowledge = save a life. Please do not bury your heads in the sand. Carry that legacy of awareness for those who are no longer here and be a voice for the defenceless and vulnerable.

So sad to be dealing with people who do not want to deal with the TRUTH. Why do we give so much credence to facts that are not based on truth. Keep rolling your eyes. It will not change the TRUTH. I think I am going to be sick in the gut reading all this fictional material. We were not in Heaths shoes and therefore, should not judge. Be opened to think ouside the box it may broaden you sense of reasoning Eve and the Serpents.
