That's funny that you say that because bollywood movies already are watched internationally.They are watched in Africa,the middle east,and many parts of Asia,not just India.Just because it's not watched by white people in America or the U.K doesn't mean it's not international.Americans think the world revolves around them,but look around there is a whole other world out there.No wonder everyone says Americans are ignorant.You ppl prove it again and again that you are.Bollywood,believe it or not,reaches more people than Hollywood since most Bollywood movies are clean.

I was born in India and i live in the most cultured part of the world.
I used to see all the filmy in my living room.
As an Indian born human I beg the boolywood people to make some critical films( Satyajit ray/Mirinal sen) and expose the indians real life.

Kambakkht Ishq (Damn Love), directed by Akshay Kumar—who "to half the world's population" is "more famous than Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise, and Bruce Willis put together"—was filmed at Universal Studios in Los Angeles and features appearances by Sylvester Stallone and Denise Richards. Hollywood does seem "to have discovered Bollywood," said Mumtaj Begum in the Malaysia Star, but "Bollywood appears just as eager to get to know Hollywood." The "huge success of Slumdog Millionaire" illustrates the West's interest in Eastern culture, and opens up a whole new market for Indian filmmakers. And "one of the main reasons Los Angeles was chosen as a backdrop" for Kambakkht Ishq is because it's "the home of all things glamorous and glitzy," which has appeal to those in the East.

Kambakkht Ishq is a perfect example of why Bollywood should not try to cater to Western audiences, said Tinselgurus. It's a "dumb" movie full of "cheesy" dialogue, "sexual connotations," scantily clad women, and offensive language—"the heroine and hero refer to each other as 'dog' and 'bitch.'" Hollywood already cranks out enough movies like that; Bollywood directors don't need to start doing it, too. "Bollywood is Bollywood" and "Hollywood is Hollywood"—let' s keep it that way.

Which bollywood movie did you watch??India produces minimum 1000 movies annually. Bollywood is just one piece of Indian movies. India has got Boolywood, Kollywood, Tollywood, Mollywood etc.. each catering to different states of India.I pitty about your poor knowledge about Bollywood movies. Check website, Chinese Film industry is looking at Bollywood for soundtrack.

It was interesting seeing the true Indian lifestyle and culture in Slumdog Millionaire. But except for the shock value of people defecating in the streets, and seeing the horrible way the poor are treated, it was not anything great.

People watched it because it was a freak show. Even the actors were actual Indian slum dwellers. It was almost more of a documentary.

Other than Slumdog I have never heard of anyone watching Bollywood movies except Indians. I may be wrong but most Westerners never heard of Bollywood until Slumdog.

Hey, Truth Hurts, get a clue. Hindi cinema is great entertainment, and the actresses are so exotic, erotic, and HOTTT, they put Hollywood stars to shame. Surf some Bollywood websites, decide whom you like best, then get some DVD's.

It's about time for Hollywood self-gratifying bloated ego maniacs to open the window of their minds and start looking at one of the most promising and rapidly changing world. Asia is the king and soon will become a reality that no one would be able to deny. Music industry must also change their attitude and start looking into some great talents in India and other Asian countries that could marketed simultaneously in USA and yes, the biggest emerging middle class of Asia. Find a few real talent from India and other parts of Asia, such as Philippines, Japan, Hong kong etc. and make them the biggest earners for the big 5 or the rest of the labels. There are talents coming to Hollywood so keep your eyes, ears and most of all, your attitude to see the talent and do something with it.

It would be funny when Bollywood finally comes to Hollywood and Hollywood realises that they are essentially watching themselves now all over again with all the films that Bollywood likes to steal from Hollywood and other sources. It would be like Hollywood coming to Hollywood except the movies now are made for people with a severely limited intelligence.
