That's not racist.

Racism does go both ways. The problem with events like this is that at its core it is exclusionary. And then with a name like Blackstar it bills itself as the 'Black' Sundance. This is a slap in the face for everything that the Sundance Film Festival stands for. Something as diverse, welcoming and non-discriminatory as Sundance should never be compared in any way with such a racist concept a 'Blackstar' Film Festival'.
Imagine a new festival called Whitestar that bills itself as the 'White' version of the Blackstar festival! One that celebrates the 'visual story telling traditions of people of European descent'. Lets go further.. lets say it was endorsed by 'Ivory' magazine, with exclusive broadcast coverage through White Entertainment Television. Sounds a little racist doesn't it? Exactly.
The core roots of racism is the separatist nature of one people towards others based on race. ANY race. I don't even want to call it 'reverse discrimination'. It's just discrimination, period
