When Pattinson was in the fourth Harry Potter movie, he showed a little more life, so perhaps he really is just playing his part a little TOO well. Funny, though, with as many women and girls who love, love, LOVE him, that he seems to be immune to it all. Might he be gay? And wouldn't that just put a couple hundred thousand British girls' knickers in a twist?:P

To his defense, he was saddled with an extremely bad director in Catherine Hardwicke...

Sadly I have read the dreadful "book" Twilight and there is a quote in it saying something to the effect of "you are exactly my brand of heroin." (Which is a horrible thing to have in a kid's book but whatever).
