His comedy may appear to be superficial slapstick, but it has many more dimensions than the comedy of Black, Sandler and definitely Shore.

Cohen is not so much the center of attention as are the people he interacts with. Think more along the lines of expanding on Andy Kaufman's style of comedy.

And this supposed idiot (Cambridge University slum) with an agent made a fortune with "Borat" so he hardly needed to work hard to get a second movie.

I think Baron Cohen is a bigot plain and simple. He's not a gay guy making fun of gays. He is an orthodox jew making fun of middle easterners (Borat and Ali G) and gays (Bruno) by depicting them as ignorant, offensive and clueless. No one in Hollywood would think Cohen was funny if he was an arab comedian playing a stereotyped jew for outrageous laughs.
