Garbage. Changing definitions is cover up strategy. These nurse clowns are still saying 1 in 88. Way to keep up with the times and facts. Latest count is 1 in 50. These nurses are as useless as all mainstream medicine that excplains autism by either going DUH, or by agreeing its not a serious issue needing immediate action, but just a coincidence that we just never noticed. There are 67 million in the world.

You are ‘conveniently’ forgetting that the survey that came up with the 1 in 50 figure was not a clinical survey, as it was a survey of parents and teachers. A significant percentage stated that their kids used to be autistic, but weren’t now. This clearly shows that whatever condition those kids had, it definitely wasn't autism, and demonstrates that the survey was unreliable.

You have also ‘conveniently’ ignored the fact that the article you are slating states:-
“The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) has compiled a summary of 41 studies demonstrating that no association exists between the MMR vaccine and ASD.”

Of course you would prefer to believe that all of those studies were “junk science” funded by Pharma. I expect that when you were a kid you believed in government controlled bogey men, and probably still do.

These people were probably interviewed prior to the newest CDC rates being released. That said, those rates are solely for the USA, not world-wide nor affecting anyone in Canada.
He must have also ‘conveniently’ ignored:
"The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) has compiled a summary of 41 studies demonstrating that no association exists between the MMR vaccine and ASD."
Guess there really isn't 1000 studies! And just where is the reference to 67 million in the world??? There is no central register of everyone who has autism, which means that any information about the possible number of people with autism in the community must be based on epidemiological surveys

Rates in Canada are likely similar to the stupid USA. Last count Britain was 1 in 64 but thats not recent and you know that backwards country is in no rush to inform the public. Many states in the U.S. have rates below 1 in 50, so even 1 in 50 may be inaccurate. The real important issue is that action is needed, but instead imbeciles still want to hang onto "yes it is, no it isn't" childish arguments. 67 million would be an estimate, but some dumbo's can't figure things like that out.

You're guessing with that statement of Canada and USA autism rates. The fact is, you cant put yourself into the USA autism rates, which of course is also an estimate.
And those rates come from the educational systems IEP label. This would account for why some area's have higher rates than others since not all states carry the same educations criteria's.
As for the change in the DSM, instead of the category being pervasive developmental disorder, now it's going to be autism spectrum with eliminating PDD-NOS, which is the bulk of the autism rates in the USA.
As for that 'action', ask yourself just what is your own country doing about it before you criticize other countries but at the same time use their autism rates.

Try thinking before printing. I said Canada's rates would be similar not part of the USA rate. These rates came from interviews of parents (1 in 50) not from IEP labels. What a nutjob. And I know what my country is doing, NOTHING except protecting vaccine makers who's contract include protection as part of providing these faulty products. Its now an industry standard.

I repeat: You're guessing with that statement of Canada and USA autism rates. You nor anyone else would have any idea of the comparison unless rates were acquired.

Bottom line however the study was conducted, they clearly specified "The parents’ reports of diagnoses weren’t substantiated through clinical evaluation or medical records".
That's all that matters.

Only to a bozo. You're a parent (shudder) and you know all about your child's diagnosis. But then I guess that makes you a useless source of info on your child. As well as useless in general.

Personal attacks are what's useless, and the only (predictable) thing you can resort to. It still changes nothing.

A clinical study is a study of the numbers of kids who have been clinically diagnosed with autism, rather than the '1 in 50' study which relied on what parents thought was wrong with their kids. A significant percentage of parents in the survey said that their kids did have autism, but not any more, showing that they didn't even know what autism was.

As for me not speaking logically, that's a big joke coming from someone whose primary vocabulary consists of words like "DUH".

Let's try the Topix forum, which is where the link was posted

http://www.topix.com/forum/health/autism/TE5G...

If one was to look at each (not just the abstacts) they's see none of it is evidence or shows a link. Most are inconclusive hypothesis not confirmed, data studies, animal studies not confirmed to happen in children (their own words), one is from the Geier's (how fun that was), and one had nothing to do with childhood vaccines. Most of the 15 studies are done by the same repeating authors. The extra credit study was funny as well, since flu vaccines come thimerosal-free for pregnant women.

Nice try Examiner.
