Japanese Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida visited the Philippines on January 9-10, 2013, in his first four-country foreign trip that included Singapore, Brunei, and Australia since his appointment by Japan's newly elected Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.

Bwhahahahahaha - Dont sound like the Philippines even need to ask let alone beg - japan is OFFERING support ,aid and loans to the Philippines .

either way its a smart move at a time when china is trying to intimidate all of asia.
filipins just happens to be the main focal point and a smart ally will rally round them . aid to the filipins is never much and the cost this time is worth the payoff to any nation that gives it now.
japan will also get port privileges and the chance to revisit their long lost children.
could be one day the filipins allies will just divide it all up and then filipinos can truly BE ALL THEY CAN BE.
happy colonials living in a multinational country.
all the benefits of 1st world society w/o lifting a finger to work for it.
