Most states with Voter ID began it a long time ago, and offer free photo ID's for those who do not drive. There are several options. It is not reasonable to assume that voter ID's (free and with many options and advance preparation) could be any bit more invasive than photo ID's for fishing license, check cashing, being allowed to enter some buildings, get a job, apply for assistance, pick up your children/grandchildren from school, etc, etc.So then why wait this close to an election to start this now ? why not give everybody enough time at least 2 to 3 months in advance, and last but not least then turn around and try to limit the time for people to vote. i don't know about you but as far as I'm concerned it just does not seem right to start this so close to voting time.
ID's ensure (or at least attempt to ensure) that all of our votes count, that no one can tamper with our right to vote. Lack of ID's ensure more fraud and probably fewer voters since most states that have enacted such laws have noticed an increase in voting - by all groups of Americans.
Why would anyone want to water down their vote?
Ask yourself this: Who stands to gain from ID's? Who stands to gain from lack of ID's? You'll have your answer.
