Of course, the billís sponsor, Senator Margaret Datyon, also a Republican, ignored any debate on the issue saying ďI think everybody basically knows where they are on this issue. Obviously, the senators may speak, but I donít know that itís going to be beneficial for me to try to debate or answer questions.Ē So, in the end, the Republicans voted 19 to 10 to strip schools of their requirement to teach sex ed, and to prohibit any teaching of contraception or homosexuality in those schools that keep on teaching sex ed.
