My third gear in my transmission is slipping. Any idea what the problem is?

The problem is it is a bad tranny . Victory had a rebate set up for this and a replacement parts kit made up for the 99 to 2002 models. it is an upgrade to a 2003 model. not all bikes had this problem so no recall.
Parts are 1455 bucks plus 300 for gaskets. 20 hours of labor. big money. good luck you will get no help from Victory. Soory about it

my 2006 Victory Vegas Jackpot has a serious tranny problem I was shifting into 2 gear and it locked up rear tire locked and I was dumped at about 20 miles per hour they tell me a part broke off and went around inside the tranny

$4,268.00 to repair. The bike has 2500 miles on it and dealer service was done as required anyone else have this type problem?

Just had 3'rd gear failure in my '06 hammer.
Sounds like several owners have experienced the same problem. I'm told its $1500 just to pull the motor & examine the transmission. Damn.

My 04 tranny has been progressively getting worse. Now 20000 miles. It will not shift up if revving above 2000 rpm. I am mechanical and will do the repairs this Winter myself. I see many are having tranny problems with their Victories. It seems the problems are ignored by Polaris and a big money maker for the dealers. This will be my last Victory. Harley for me for now on.

Joe were in the same boat. If parts alone cost what Im hearing I will be putting my Victory on display at the local Harley.dealer with an itemized list to repair it so anyone else considering a Victory buys a Harley.

If it costs $2000 plus to repair my 04 Victory I will be putting it on display at the local Harley.dealerships in Portland OR and Vancouver WA with a sign stating what it costs to own a Victory verses a Harley. Im sure the dealers would jump on the chance to use it as a sales gimmick. I know I would have bought a Harley if I saw a similar bike as mine sitting in front of a Harrley dealer.

I bought a SC from a person, whomn I really doubt that he knew about the trans prob, but it may be possible. Occassionally there's a faslse neutral in 3rd. I just learned to get into 3rd , gently bring up the rpm to 4th and go. Considering the cost of repair and that I had it for 6 yrs and what I paid for it. I'll just run it until whenever. If I lose 3rd maybe I can jump shift from 2 to 4 or just sell the bike or find a 106 that'll fit or maybe put an RF900 engine in it, Which is basically a GSXR block/tranny and convert the bike to a MAXIM. Which I thought was ahead of its time.
I love the frame geometry and the way it rides so I'm reluctant to sell itor spend $8k for a similar ride but I am considering a VMAX before I die ,lol. Does anyone know if an S&S engine would fit??
