CA emissions canister

I wish that the gosh awful 'coffee can' looking emissions canister would simply fall off. Unfortunately, however, the bike is new and there is little chance of that actually happening. What is the process for removing the darn thing? Help appreciated.

I just called this exhaust shop near Santa Cruz and the guy told me how to do it. Here is the link, call him and he will let you know.
