Age of Ural motorcycle

I have a neighbor who has an Ural motorcycle that has been stored in her barn for 5 plus years. She was storing it for a friend who she has not heard from or seen since leaving the bike. Now the neighbor wants the bike gone and has offered it to me. My question is how do I determine the age of it? Is there a serial number that would help identify the age and model? It has definitely sat for quite some time as many of the rubber hoses have rotted and there is some minor rust in different spots. It is a solo bike and the the intriguing thing I noticed is that there are zero miles on the odometer. The tires still have little rubber spikes on the outside of the tire which tells me that either the tires are original or have been changed out. I did not notice if the exhaust pipes had any discoloration which would answer that question. Anyways, if someone could let me know where any marking might be I would appreciate it. Thanks in advance. Nick B from Cape Cod

The Ural must have a VIN - Vehicle Idendification Number.
Send the VIN to firstname.lastname@example.org.
IMZ-Ural should respond in a few days.
Hope this helps.
Happy New Year !

The first digit of the engine serial number is the year of manufacture. There are 2 numbers left side forward on the block. The more rearward one is the serial. Sequence like "7000###" would indicate 2007 as the year of manufacture
