Does anyone know if a GSX400 engine will bolt straight into my GSX250 frame?
The 250 is an 84 model, and the 400 hundred I think is the same, the frame/tank/seat look identical.
Have found the bigger engine in a wreckers but don't wanna buy it if I have to do too much to get it to fit

Although the engines look similar, the frames are different. A gsx250 has a single down tube but the 400 has a double down tube. I am sure the mounts on a 400 are wider which makes this a very difficult swap. A lot of the chassis parts are bigger on a 400 and won't fit the 250 frame. Check out gs resources forum for more info.
