I own a Roketa maui 50. Has not run right since day 1. it starts good the first time and dies. this happens several times before you can ride. then it dies every quarter mile or so about 8 times before it will stay running.after that it takes off great until you hit 15 MPH then it falls on its faceand goes about 5 to 10 mph tops. It wasn't as bad when I first got it, but its continually getting worse. I bought it from affordable atv in Boonville Indiana. the owner told me it was the fuel regulator on the tank so he got me one and I changed it and the problem is the same or worse. I f anyone can help me it would be greatly appreaciated thanks Brent

I have been checking for several weeks now on buying a scooter. I have looked locally (which I can't affort) and I have looked at website after website after website that sells them. I have found that "scooterdemand" is a VERY bad company to buy from and have VERY bad reviews and a VERY negitive rating with the BBB. I suggest anyone who is looking to buy go to the BBB website and check out ratings, complaints etc... I have found and it was through the BBB a company with very good credentials called "evo sales". Their website is " www.evosales.com ". This particular company states that they "test drive" each scooter before it is shipped" eliminating lots of headache. Give them a look beore you go anywhere else. I have not bought from them yet because I am looking for a scooter with the Roketa MC-54 body style and cant find it except with scooter demand and WONT go there!! Let me know if anyone has dealt with this "evosales" and your experience please.

i bought a 150cc and it has the same problem, im still waiting for the new parts. also the kickstarter seriously broke right off the engine. im a little pissed but i have a bunch of honda parts im going to fix it with...sometime.
I just purchased a Motofino 150cc. 59 miles and I have had it in the dealers shop 3 times for starter problems. The last time he replaced the starter, it lasted for about a week. The kick starter works OK, but that is not a fix. As far as I am concerned, Chinese scooters are junk

Be specific, what was wrong with the starter?

The dealer said the problem is with the brushes. Whether they are poor quality, poor design, or what, I have no idea. I can anticipate the starter going out, when I shut down the engine and start hearing a loud click, it's usually only a few miles later that the starter goes out. I have told the Dealer this 3 times, but he just waves it off. Why do Vehicle service people think customers are stupid, samo samo with Cars and Trucks. From my understanding the starter problem with the Motofino 150cc is common?

Almost 4100 miles on mine, no problem. I don't know how much of a mechanic the dealer is but it could be a bad ground connection or dirty battery terminals.

The battery is brand new, I double checked the terminal connections and they are all tight & clean, and all the electrical thingys work OK. I would think the first thing he would check is the ground and the solenoid, etc? When he works on the starter it is OK for a week or so and then it won't start. He put in a brand new starter and the same thing happened. I have to think it is simply a matter of junk starters. Will keep the forum updated in any progress or definite problem is found other than the brushes.

I talk to a Motofino dealer almost every day, there is no problem with Motofino starters. You may be unlucky, it happens. Bring this to the Motofino forum, can't post pictures here, hard to diagnose what you can't see. http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/MOTOFINOS...

After reviewing several online dealers selling the same or similar products I choose All NEW SPORTS because of the following claim on their website.
"Our primary focus is to deliver our customers the best value and the biggest smile. Your complete satisfaction is guaranteed."
If you are content to view your $2000 purchase from the kitchen window for close to 2 weeks now while it remains completely useless because you're waiting for ALL NEW SPORTS to deliver ownership papers that should take 3 business days, then consider carefully where you purchase your ATV, Go-Karts, Dirt Bikes and Moped Scooters. OK...mistakes and delays do happen. After being patient the normal waiting time and in accordance with their claim for committment to customer satisfaction on Aug 20, I requested the "customer service manager" look into the matter and expedite it. Apparently her idea of "handling" it was to send it out 4 days later on Aug 23, or so I have been told. Did she contact me to advise me of the additonal delay? The answer is no. After expressing my urgency for the title did she illustrate their committment to customer satisfaction by sending it out via "priority mail"? The answer is no. I have subsequently been advised that it was sent "first class mail" resulting in a deliver time of another 4-5 days.
Poor responsiveness after the sale, failure to follow up internally or advise the customer, and unfounded claims about customer satisfaction have been my experience with All NEW SPORTS thusfar.
Scooters from mainland China share similar characteristics and quality levels. The caveat is to buy from a company that is serious about "customer satisfaction". Buy from a company where the owner is willing to talk to an customer with a concern, not hide behind employees who are instructed to shield him or her from dealing with customer complaints. Buy from a company where you can expect a satisfactory level of responsiveness and accountability. Buy from a company that delivers the title instead of excuses. As of today I still have no ownership papers and my purchase from All NEW SPORTS remains motionless in the driveway while my son has already left for college missing out on the chance to take it with him.
The quality of components varies widely, as does assembly, from manufacturer to manufacturer. Many importers buy based only on lowest cost, with no concern about quality. A few of the importers actually own significant stock in Chinese factories, and work to improve quality. Their scooters will cost a little bit more at the beginning, but less in the long run.
You have to do the research, there are good Chinese scooters available. The industry is so messed up with BS that no one believes anything good exists. It isn't a good situation.

Does anyone know how to contact either BMScooters or National Direct Powersports, Inc? Seems like I've taken hook, line and sinker, too.

You might get somewhere contacting the Kansas attorney generals office, but I'm afraid that the law has so many loopholes in it that little will be done.
There are some decent, inexpensive Chinese scooters, it is a shame that they get branded along with the junk.

Good Job. After the DA got involved with WinWin Auto Group, they shortly contacted me regarding my complaint with the DA. I told them what body parts were damaged during shipping. They said they can't get the body parts! How do you like that? They told me to take it to a body shop and get an estimate to repair it and fax it to them. What sense does that make? They said they only carry major parts. No body parts can be gotten.

Just asking if anyone can offer any ideas on my problem. I have a Roketa MC-54 2007, and in a previous post, I said that the scooter runs well for 10-12 minutes and then shuts off and I push the start button and it turns but the engine will not start, I wait about 2 hours and then I can start the scooter again, and it will run for 10-12 minutes again and do the same. I have changed the coil, and no affect, and when it does stop, I open the carb cover and add some gas to see if maybe it is a fuel problem, but it does not start without the "rest", so I tend to think that it is a problem with a heat shut down? is there a protection shut down on these scooters?,...any help would be appreciated,...when it runs(for the 10-12 minutes),it runs fine, but when it hits that certain time,...it just stops! Thanks!
I have a Roketa MC-54 but I don't have that problem. Check all ur hoses thoroughly. Other than having body damage when delivered, my scooter has been running fine. It starts cutting the gas when you exceed 65mph but I think it was designed to do this to limit the speed(governor?). I have 1200 miles on it and have had no problems other with hoses coming loose. I have my scooter scheduled at a local repair shop. Gonna have them change all the cheap hoses and clamps out and have them put "real" ones on. Sorry I couldn't help out more than that. I also seen a post in here about the red light (cell phone alert) blinking. It will do this when you are near your cell phone carriers towers. I have a tower near me and every time I drive by the tower the light blinks like crazy. Also, if a car rides near you or passes you and they get a call, it will blink.

One of you needs to set up a site and begin organizing. You need some place where you can post pictures and be able to contact each other by PM. Topix is cool, but it is limited.
Right now you are not organized and you need to be, or you ain't gonna get anywhere.
All of you also need to sign up on every scooter forum you can find, and tell your story. Be calm, be accurate.
I don't have a chicken in this fight, but I hate watching folks get ripped off.
If one of you wants to take charge give me an email where I can contact you, if you think you need some help. I can't give legal advice but I can tell you how to begin organizing.
