Hi i have a 2006 150cc 4 stoke leike scooter and my back parking light and break light and my starter does not work don't know much about wiring, of any one can pleas help thanks
HELLO
Ok start with the easy stuff first, check the connector for the lights.
1 remove the under seat storage the connection is on the right hand side,if it seems ok then remove the covers of the instrument cluster ,the brake lght switches also act as a safety device when starting the engine, follow the wires,I have had the same problem, check for loose connections or insulation that has worn.
2 the starter should not turn unless the brake lever is pulled in.
hope this helps.

hey guys, I tried to change the spark on my 2008 baotian, but failed as I didn't have the right extraction tool. After I put it back together, the engine (4 stroke) is really low on power, and makes a horrible rattling noise while the engine is running. What have I done and how can I fix it?
thanks folks

If you need help with your battery, then you might as well buy a new one because it costs the same to fix.
If you need to buy a battery go to
http://youneedbatteries.com/

just go to the scooter section and then type in your bike brand and type and it should be there if not let me know.

I am in search of a local scooter repairman in Denver Metro. I have an issue with the battery losing the charge everyday.
Thank you.
Charge the battery overnight using a 3/4 amp trickle-once the light turns from red to green, test with a multi meter- the voltage should read over 12v..if not the battery is bad.
If it's over 12v you're good.
The other culprit is the stator- you can use the multimeter again to test it- connect pos/neg to battery leads and run the motor up to mid level rpms- the meter should jump up to just under 13,14v..if it doesnt- the stator is bad.
It can also be the voltage regulator-that's another story- try these two first.

hello
Ok before You take the scooter to the repair shop check the headlight bulb it should be rated at 36 watt and no more this is for a scoot with one headlight ,for a scoot with two headlights
the bulbs are usually 18w halogen (they are connected in parallel)
This is a common problem where the wrong bulb is fitted also check
the earth cable from the battery to the frame and from the frame to the engine.

Don't always trust the green light on a battery charger. A bad battery can still show charged. I found this out this past summer with my lawn tractor battery. I keep it and my scooter battery in the house during winter and usally put the charger on each about the middle of the winter to check them, and again before I put them back in use. My tractor battery showed green on the Battery Tender Jr. I put it in, it cranked twice then just clicked. Usually when you get the clicking, it is either a starter solenoid or the battery. I put the charger back on the battery, came out later and the green light was on. Tried to start the tractor - but samo samo. So I took the battery to the dealer, they checked it, and it was shot. Bought a new battery and no problems there after.

Hi Steve check to see if your bike has a thing called a zena diode
it is usually a small square component on the wire loom on the bike it usually has two or three wires on it,it is basically a voltage regulator designed to put out a specific voltage I had the same problem with my 250cc v twin cruiser and that is what the problem was and have had no trouble since hope this helps you.

If the battery will not hold a charge, a repairman can't help you. Get a new battery.
If there is something draining the battery, or the scooter is not charging the battery, that is a different senario. Try the yellow pages.
if you have a malty meter wile running hook it to batery should show 12 to 13 volts if not look at cdi or stater coil

Remove the spark plug and the valve cover.
turn the engine by using the kick start lever until the piston is at the top of the cylinder,
VERY IMPORTANT
BOTH VALVES MUST BE IN THE CLOSED POSITION IF NOT TURN THE ENGINE MORE UNTIL THEY ARE
Loosen the lock nut on the rocker arm and turn the adjuster
in an anti-clockwise direction there should now be more play on the rocker arm,
insert a feeler gauge (thin calibrated metal strip)between the adjuster and top of the valve the thickness of the gauge is 0006" (six one thousandths of an inch or 0.15mm for metric)
turn the adjuster clockwise until it just touches the gauge hold the top of the adjuster and lock the lock nut repeat the sequence for the
other valve.
replace the valve cover and run the engine until normal operating temperature is reached.
remove the valve cover turn the engine until both valves are closed(same as before) and check the clearance between the valve and rocker arm if there is little or no clearance then make it slightly bigger.
replace the valve cover.
