Robert, why are you on this forum just saying the same thing over and over about how crappy they are. We get the picture, you hate them. I've taken care of my Roketa MC17 150 for 3 years well and no problems. Treat your machines right and they'll last. They just take more TLC than most, yes, but they're not 2000 -3000 dollars to buy.

Thanks for being positive about the Roketa. I too like to think I take care of my scooter but right now am having problems and can't find anyone who says they are worth fixing. Has starting issues--picks and choses when it wants to start. Replaced spark plug, coil and CDI but still same issue.

That's funny. You don't sound very positive now!

I recently aquired a 2008 Roketa mc-54-150 scooter. When I got it I checked the oil dipstick, and the oil in the engine was very black looking. I thought I should change it immediately before riding any further. After speaking with a guy at the local bike shop, I find out these things don't even have a oil filter on them! What kind of life expectancy on these engines is there without an engine oil filter?! I'm also told to change the oil every 1000 miles...is that true?! The oil is 13.99 a quart where I bought it from! That's not gonna make owning a operating a scooter very cost efficient! Anyways, I now am faced with the task of changing the oil myself, since the shop where I got the oil from was too busy to do it for me...so I was looking around online to see if there was any help in this area. I never changed the oil on a scooter, I've done it on a motorcycle, which I would assume is pretty much the same...except for the oil filter, which the Roketa is apparently without! Then the guy tells me the life expectancy on the Roketa engine is only about 3 to 4000 miles! Mine has 2500!!! That means it's almost done!?! This can't be true!?! I just got the scooter! Traded a Mazda B2200 truck for it! Ahhhh! I want my truck back! This is scarry! Can anyone tell me something good about the Roketa's?

I have a Bali 250, does anyone know where the plugs are to drain and fill the gear oil ?? Any help would be appreciated !!
There is a rubber plug on the side where the drain plug exists. Pull this plug and use a socket extender to reach the drain bolt. I have tried to drain mine afew times, but it barely dribbles out. So I just top off. Am I not using the correct drain plug?

Look under the scooter. Usually the drain in on the bottom of the oil pan near the muffler side. It should be a fairly large nut. When you remove it be careful, it will probably have a spring and a mesh filter. The plug, spring, and filter must go back in exactly as it came out. Changing the oil every 1000 miles is a good idea. Use syn engine oil for scooters that have some mileage. I went to syn at 1200 miles. If you read the threads about Roketa scooters on this website you will quickly find out they are a poor quality Chinese scooter. I had one. It lasted a fantastic 800 miles.

My 07 50cc Roketa used 10W40 syn and a little less than a quart. Get a measuring cup from Walmart. Drain the engine oil and pour a few ounces of oil in the scooter and check the dipstick. Keep track of the ounces you use and do this until the dipstick reads "FULL". Then add up the ounces you put in, write them down for future reference. Not rocket science, my dear.
lol nope! just roketa science!:)

If the clutch will not engage, you have a bigger problem than gear oil.

can't find the spark plug on my 50cc. is it connected to the battery wires? does it look like a car or truck spark plug?

The spark plug looks just like the plug on a lawnmower, or snowblower, etc. It will probably be on the muffler side in the lower front of the engine. You should see the plug wire and just follow it to the plug. You will have to remove some panels to get to it.

I have a Roketa 150 MC-13. The belt keeps breaking about every 120-130 miles. Have replaced the clutch and front variator pulley and have been thru 5 belts. It appears the heat from the engine is breaking down the belt. Does anyone else have this problem?

He told you a bunch of lies. Even the small Honda's don't have and oil filter, never did, The Roketa has the Linha engine same as yamaha. China has made engines for Japan for years. Why you paid $14 bucks for oil is above me?? If $4 oil will do in a car it will sure work in ascooter. Also about all motors are about the same to change oil. You need to go to scooter dogs web
