2008 Peace Sports 50cc Scooter turns over but won't start

Checked the gas, cleaned the filter, battery is good, in-line fuse not blown. The scooter used to start fine but now it won't start. Turns over but doesn't seem to have any spark. Only has 1200 miles. Any suggestions?

you have a bad cdi it sounds like .....change it and id bet money it will run nicely

May want to check the spark plug and the plug connection. Also check the carb, may have a plugged line or jet.

At the red switch on the right (throtle) use your finger to ensure that the wiring harnes is conected firmly. I have one and when it wroks loose i have the same problem, turns over but won't start. Also hold the throtle a bit it could be adjusted to low.

With no spark you must have good mag then to CDI which tells the coil to spark, magnetos do not go too often but CDIs in chinese scooters do often contact scootertronics.com we CDIs in stock to ship or your coil could bad and do not forget spark plug, to check for spark remove spark plug reconnect to coil ground out to frame try to start you should see spark if not replace coil and CDI

I have the same scooter and a similar problem. Mine turns over and starts but it's like it not getting any gas because it slowly just stops running. Any suggestion?

I have a 50cc peace sport scooter which when I give it gas to throutle up it wants t stall, what is the problem andhow can I fix it.
No dealer in my area will look at it.

I have the same scooter and have had nothing but problems with it. I also had this same problem and it turned out to be the CDI. Check the spark plug and CDI it might solve the problem. Getting sick of dealing with this scooter so i might trade it in for a Yamaha or Honda scooter at the end of the summer. Chinese scooters are for the most part hit or miss, and this one for me has been a big miss. Good luck!

Chinese scooters are a mainly a miss. Can't beat the quality of a Yamaha or Honda. Pay a higher initial price but save money in the long run and get a hellua lot more riding time. When you live in the Northern half of the U.S. riding time is a prime priority and consideration. You don't want to be stuck with a Chinese junk scooter sitting in the garage because it's always broke down or waiting on parts. Trust me, I went through that senario and lost practically an entire Spring & Summer of riding time. Never more quoth the Raven.

I gota 2008 peace sports scooter and it wont start or spark at the plug. Ive put a new CDi box on it checked ohms on the coil its good. What should the voltage be at the mag? The only thing left to check is the volt regulator, But would the keep it from firing? I would think it would fire off the batt till it went dead.

I also have a scooter same year same model and also does the same thing. After two weeks it dies to a low 20mph juck bucket. Sad mechanics say that engine performance depends on how much you ride it. It's the carb. jet stream!

I am not sure riding affects the performance is a accurate statement by the mechanic. If you leave it sit for long periods, certainly the fuel system can gum up, the battery can discharge, and the oils if dirty can thicken up. My scoot sometimes sits all Winter but if winterized properly, it does not affect the performance when I can ride it. The carb "Jet" could be plugged or dirty, but I have no clue what the "Jet stream" is. Other than a weather condition, or what a Jet plane produces in the atmosphere.
