Just purchased a used Roketa 50cc (MC-08-05)(765 miles)
It starts without hesitation and idles perfectly, but when gas is applied to throttle, the engine dies. Any thoughts? Bought it cheap with a clear title, so any small engine repair and I'm still ahead of the game.

I had an 07 50cc Roketa. Whatever you paid for it, it wasn't cheap. I bought mine brand new for $900. Saved myself $1000 over buying a brand name 50cc. How wrong I was!!!!! It didn't save me $900, it cost me $900. Roketa's are one of the worse quality scooters to come out of China.

Know this is a old thread, maybe we can spark it some mew life, I also have a Roketa 50cc scooter that starts, runs a few minutes and dies out, It is currently sitting in a dark corner of the shop covered in dust, but after two different carbs, original and a replacement, cleaned both carbs, checked float operation, used a remote tank directly to the carb, eliminating the scooters tank fuel shut off and filter. checked fuel flow through the needle and seat with out the bowls on (both carbs),new spark plug, Hooked my timing light up to check for spark while it was dieing..timing light flashed right along with the RPM of the motor right down till it dies...If I remember correctly, I can keep it running with shots of carb cleaner...But two bad carbs? Waiting for some body to show me just how stupid I am! lol

Gas cap vents open? Got to have air going into the gas tank. Soak the gas cap in a bowl of brake cleaner for a couple hrs.

not a gas cap vent, I have used a remote IV style tank while on the bench, does the same thing with the IV and the rest of the fuel system bypass!
Thinking it might be time to drag this thing out and take another crack at it.

**Bought used 2007 Roketa Maui 50gl (50cc). It runs good - had to buy a new battery, spark plug, drained out old oil and put in new oil, also put in fresh gas. Anyways when i drive it it will start to slow down until it dies then i restart without problem.

We think it's not pumping enough fuel. We are going to get a fuel pump. We already made sure idle was right and we already checked the vaccuum on it.

Thanks for the thought, I have not tried to work on it again, but when trying to figure out what was up with it, I completely bypassed the scooters fuel tank, shut off and lines and used a remote fuel tank while trying to figure out what was up with it!

It is your carb as is many problems listed on here. They can not be cleaned. Buying a used one is useless. These have a ball bearing inside them. If you put compressor air to them throw them away. you will stick the ball bearing. I have done several of theses all the same problems

the jet screw on the carb needs to be adjusted for more gas to the engine because there's no gas when u hit the throttle
